Minutes of the AGM held at the Social Centre on Friday 9[th] May 2025 at 4pm 

## Chairman's Welcome 

Mr. Inglesant welcomed those present, Mr & Mrs Stamp, Mrs Inglesant, and Mr. Dave Hirst.

## Minutes of the Annual General Meeting, Tuesday 23rd April 2024 

Copies of the Minutes were handed out, and duly approved, Proposed by Mr J Stamp, Seconded by Mrs J Stamp. 

## Matters Arising 

None. 

## Chairman's' Report on behalf of the Council 

Mr Inglesant read out the Report. 

Our cleaners have done a sterling job yet again this year.  Major works consisted of sound boards being fitted to walls and ceiling in main hall. These will absorb some of the noise and echo generated. A new pump fan has been fitted in the cellar under the stage, and new extraction units in the main hall.  A new Emmersion heater has been installed in the main kitchen. 

## Projects for the Future 

Another 4 sound boards to be fitted. Possible under counter boiler for back room. Main Hall to be decorated. Stage curtains replaced. Ladies toilets re-furbishment. Painting of yellow edge to stage. Plastic edgings to cover scuff marks on skirting boards in the main hall. Motion sensor fitting to the outside lights. 

## Treasurer's Report and Presentation of the Accounts 

Mrs Inglesant presented the accounts for 2024 and handed out copies to all present. Proposed by Mr S Inglesant, seconded by Mr J Stamp that the accounts be adopted. 

## Auditor Appointment 

Agreed by all, Auditor stay the same as the past few years, Mr Guy Meakin. 

## Letting Secretary's Report 

Mrs J Stamp read out her Report. The Ivy club has ceased to exist after many years, due to falling numbers, and so will no 



longer be hiring. Kaspars have left us, as has the Asian Church group. We have a new group starting in June, a childrens dancing class. 

Eastern European group are still holding their meetings once a month. The Vikings are still with us. LIHS also doing well. History Group meet once a Month. The Collectors Club has been increasing its attendances,  and they  hire the back room once a month. We have been approached by Blaby District Council regarding setting up Health & Wellbeing classes in line with “Care in the Community”. This is still on hold for now. 

## Health & Safety Report 

## Mr S Inglesant & Mr J Stamp reported on Health & Safety matters. 

No Major incidents reported.  Risk Assessment will be re-done.   John Stamp said the domestic cooker we have in the kitchen is getting old, so it was decided to remove it and replace it with a cupboard. John will arrange this. Dave Hirst asked if a users list could be put on display showing days and times of occupation of the hall.   Also a map showing nearest De-Defibrillators.  Jacky Stamp said she will arrange this.  It was agreed that a yellow edge will be painted on the edge of the stage for safety. PAT testing needs to be done on new fires in back room. Jacky will arrange this.

We are assuming that the representatives will remain the same.
