The trustee presents the annual report and the financial statements for the year to the 31 March 2025.
Objects
To ensure that open spaces and recreation grounds are maintained and made accessible for the wellbeing and enjoyment of the whole community.
Structure
The land, now known as Werneth Park, was left in trust by Marjory Lees to the Borough of Oldham in January 1936. The trust deed required the Borough of Oldham to maintain the provision of open and recreation space. Officers within the council are charged with ensuring the land is maintained.
Funding and Reserves Policy
Under the terms of the trust deed, the Borough of Oldham is obligated to ensure that sufficient financial resources are made available to maintain the grounds and guarantee continued public access.
Activities
The park offers a range of amenities for the public, including walking routes throughout the grounds, a bowling green, outdoor gym equipment, tennis courts, a playground, informal kick-about areas, and popular spaces for dog walking.
