We have pitches for rc icket and football, and  a new Multi Use Games A rea with tennis courts, netball courts, a basketball court and  a fve-a-side football pitch. We also p rovide on our site a children’s playground as well as informal recreational space. There a re three changing rooms and  a function room /kitchen and toilets in the new building. The Community Centre is open to all residents of the civil parish of Kirkby I releth, and  is well used by residents and visitors alike. The village school uses our facilities for PE lessons and their annual Sports Day, and the tennis club organises coaching in the holidays with an LTA coach. These facilities will widen participation by extending the ofer of the centre for wider community and recreational use and improve health and well-being as well as facilitating community cohesion. We have had  a large fundraising exercise to allow us to achieve our rp oject to refurbish /  replace the main building. This has been very successful and the p roject has been completed during 2020

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

Sports clubs – They have all had  a successful year. **Summa** r **y of the main achievements of the** The childrens play a rea has been refurbished and all major **cha** r **ity** d **u** r **ing the yea** r concerns completed after  ra ecent council safety inspection. Facilities- This year we have completed  a major refurbishment to the existing building plus two a dditional new blocks Stage 1 which consists of new block containing Home/Away & ofcials changing rooms. Stage 2 new block containing reception a rea/Ladies/Gents & Disabled toilets plus kitchen. Stage 3  Refurbishment of existing building into one large room with plant room & storage. We have had considerable support f rom our local community for the above p roject and feel the new facilities will be a g  reat beneft to all for many years. Sadly, our village gala could not go ahead because of Covid 19 restrictions. From March 2020 the sports clubs were also afected.. The Cricket, Football, Bowling Club and Tennis leagues were suspended and some f riendly matches took place when permitted. In autumn 2020 football league matches restarted.  As many people worked rf om home and children were home schooled the MUGA was used more.  Tennis coaching took place for da ults and children, social tennis became established.  There were many more casual users as people took exercise to b reak up their day. A netball g roup was formed which used the MUGA f rom July to September. From September Yoga and Pilates classes took place in the new hall with limited numbers. We had hoped that village g roups eg History, Supper Club, Ladies Guild and the A rt class would start in the refurbished hall in the autumn, but as many of those attending were more vulnerable to Covid 19 this d d i not occur. Covid restrictions p revented indoor use of the hall for rp ivate parties. 

We look forward to extending activities for the beneft of the community in 2020-21.

Kirkby in Furness Community Centre
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounls of the charity for the year ended 30th
September 2020 which are set out on pages 2 to 4.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(bl of the 2011 Acl.
Indopendent examiner's statement
I havè completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters hav@ come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act.,
or
12) the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
