Gregson Green Trustee< Report For the year ended 31 March 2023 The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of Gregson Green for the year ended 31 March 2024. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial statements comply with current statutory requirements and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charlties" Issued In March 2005. Structure, Governance and Management Gregson Green Is a charity, wlth charity reglstration number 521121. Aims and Objectlves The alms of the charity can be spllt Into two dlstlnct areas: The contlnued fundln8, operation and maintenance of the current community centre and sports facllltles at Gregson Green Fundraislng to enable the replacement of the currentfacllltles wlth a customlsed new communlty centre and associated sports facilities forthe benefit of the comrnunlty. New Communlty Centre and Sports Facllltles The current facllltles at Gregson Green are a wood construction communlty centre from the 196(Ys and a sports field with changing facilitles based In free standing former shlpplng containers. The stsndard of these faclllties ha5 in prevlous years prevented the promotion of the Cricket team based at Gregson Lane belng promoted. Plans have been drawn up for a new build centre incorporating function sulte and sports changing facilitie5 to replace the now outdated facilities at the Gregson Green site.

Gregson Green Notes to the Financlal statements For the year ended 31 March 2024 Accounting Policies Basis of Preparatlon of the Flnancial Statements The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP), Accounting and Reportlng by Charities. published in March 2005. applicable accountlng standards and the Companies act 2006. Fund accounting General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the Charity and which have not been designated for other purposes. Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance wlth specific restrictions Imposed by donors whlch have been ralsed for a specific purpose. The costs of raising and administering such funds are charged agalnst the specific fund. Donatlons Donatlons subject to speclfic wishes of donors are carried to the relevant restricted fund. Any donations recelved for general purposes are credited to the unrestricted fund. Donations are accounted for when received. Dlrect and Overhead Expenditure Expendlture is incurred when there Is a legal or constructive obligation committlng the charity to the expenditure. Expenditure is summarised under functional headings either on a direct cost basis or, for overhead costs, apportioned according to management estimates of staff time spent. The irrecoverable element of VAT is included in the item of expenditure to which it relates.
