**TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2025/26**
Bookings for 2025 were again buoyant and the yearend receipts at 31[st] January were up on the previous year, and the expenses less.
There were 39 completed bookings in 2025 with 2169 bed nights over 107 nights.
22 Dof E/Youth/Care Groups accounted for 56% of the total bookings, and 1404 bed nights(64% of the total) That was 515 individuals staying an average of 2.7 nights. Whilst repairs and renewals had increased, there was a decrease in management expenses.
There were 3 work parties during the 2025-26 period, and 8 further check up visits. The first work party in March 2025 replaced a shower unit in the main building, and fixed the plumbing in the maintenance building. Work was undertaken inside and outside the main building, including cleaning, checking fixtures and other maintenance tasks. Outside the front pathway was cleaned of dung as sheep had gained access due to the fencing being removed whilst some trees had been felled on the perimeter of the site. A major task was repairing the track with stone and some cement following water damage over the winter period. The drainage of the bore hole sump was flushed, and the drainage of the gents toilet roof improved.
The electrician, Goodwin Electrical Ltd replaced some old light fittings with new LED units.
Owing to the high probability of expensive maintenance works it was agreed to increase the booking charges.
In June there was a satisfactory, more in depth 5 yearly, audit of the water supply by Conwy Council, and a satisfactory electrical installation condition report by Goodwin Electrical Ltd.
During the year there was further work undertaken on upgrading the maintenance of the buildings, and improvements to the access track, including replacing the water pipe under the bottom bend. It was also noted that a drainage channel in an adjacent field was blocked and overflowing onto the track above its normal channel. It was later agreed that we would fund an upgrade to the drainage in the adjacent farmers field, thus preventing further damage to the track.
During the year work was undertaken on updating the web site, and registering the property (Bron-y-Gader) with the Land Registry via the trust’s solicitors.
