During the last financial year, we have been fortunate erM)ugh to refurbish our lift, wlth fund raising
and a grant from Karbon Homes. re-modelled our outdoor space and provlde a bench as a rest
stop and Installed 2 bike racks 8t the front of the buildlng. We have also been able to purchase a
card machlne to allow cashle8S transactions.
We dld have a large. unexpected cost, of repairing the Stonework on the front of the bulldlng whlch
had detsriorated during the pandemic. The loose arKJ flaking plaster has now been removed but
future remodelling will be required, this work was completed over two weekends by a local finn..
Future Improvements we would like to make are".
Full refurbishment of Ix)th toilets wlth the Instsiiatlon of baby changlng stations
Redecoration of the centre
Remodelllng of the front facia

Financial Statement 2022-23
The results for the year to 30 September 2023 show a deficit of £1,379.
This is the first full year without the impact of the pandemic arKI represents a highly satisfactory
outcome and a retum to pre-pandemic trading levels.
During the year we had a large bill of £4,500 for essential work to remove loose stonework at the
front of the building.
If this one-off charge Is excluded, the underfying trading position would produce a surplus.
Comparisons with the last accounls are complex for ￿0 reasons. Firstly. the last period was 18
months and. secondly, the pandemic impacted on the previous period.
Nevertheless. there are en￿uragIng signs of growth in temis of room hire and sales In Jean's
kitchen. Room hire rates were increased in April 2023. This was mainly done to negate the Impact
of wage increases, due to minimum wage rises, and due to increased energy costs. Durfng most
of the year we were fortunate to still be urKler contract for our energy at fixed rates at significantly
k)wer cost, however when these deals expired there was, unsurprisingly, a significant cost
Increase. Thls wlll fvlly manifest itself in the 2023-24 financial year.
Depreciation charges increased from £3,655 for the previous 18 months to £6,746. This was due
to the first full year of writing down the £19,600 of lift refurbishment.
Reserves continue to be stroro at £85.859. with cash balances of £65,334.
Once again. V￿ would like to express our thanks to our independent examiner, Tery Cain, for his
efficient arKI diligent v￿rk.
