The PCC has the responsibility of co-operaling with the priest in charge in promoting in the
e¢clesi8sIic81 parish the whole mi55ion of the Church, pastoral, evangelical, social and
ecumenical. 11 also has maintenance ￿sponSibl1111es for Ihe Church of Christ the King.
Membership
Membership of the PCC is either ex officio or elected by the Annual P8io¢hial Church Meeting
IAPCMI in accordance with the Church Representation Rulès.

expenditure. Attends to matters relating to the stewardship of the church buildings and fabric.

Org8nises and co-ordinates social occasions throughout the year which givè paiishioners an
opportunity for fellowship. Some of these even15 will raise money for PCC funds. One event
each year raises money for a charitable cause other than the parish.

This report on the accounts of the PCC for the year ended 31 December 2023 which are sel out
on pages 4 to Y, is in respect of an examination carried out in accordance with the Church

My examination was carried out in accordance with the Ger>er81 01￿ctIOnS given by the Charity
Commission under Section 14515llbl of the Act and to be found in the Church guidance, 2006 edition.
That examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by the PCC and a comparison
of the accounls with Ihose records. It also includes considering any unusual items or
disclosure5 in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees conceming any
such mallers. ThÈ procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be
quired in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by
the accoLtnts.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh the Church Accounting
Regu131ions together with applicable accounting standards and the Charities SORP.
The financAal statements have been prepared under the historical cost convèntlon.
General funds represent the funds of the PCC that are not subject lo any ￿$1￿CtionS regardlng
their use and are available for application on the general purposes of the PCC. These include
fund5 designated for a particular purpose by the PCC.
The accounts include transactions. assets and liabililies for which the PCC can be held respons-
ible. They do not include the accounts of church groups Ihal owe an affiliation lo another body
nor those that are informal gatherings of church members.
Income
Collections are recognised when made.
Amounts receivable under covenant a￿ recognised only when honoured by the covenanlor.
Income lax recoverable on covenanted donations is recognised when claimable.
Funds raised by the fair5. bingo and other fvndraising events are accounted for gross.
Parochial fees due for weddings. funerals elc are accounted for on an event by event basis.
Deposit interest is accounted for when received.

The Parish Share is accounted for when paid and any share unpaid al 31 December is shown
as a note lo the accounts.

Consecrated and beneficed propety is exduded from the accoun15 by the Charities Act 2011
Dedicated property is capitalised and depreciated in the finandal slalements over its anticipated
useful economic life of 50 years.
Moveable Church fumishings held by the Priest in charge and churchwardens on special trust for the
PCC which require a faculty for disposal are accounled for as inalienable propety unless consecrated.
Other fixtures and fillin
Equipment used within the ehufch premises is depreciated on a slraighl line basis over 5 years.
Current Assets
Amounts owng lo the PCC al 31 December in respect of fees oi other in￿rne are shown as
deblots.
Current Liabilities
Amounts owed by the PCC 8131 December in respect of expenses are shown as accrued
expenses.
