Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2024 The Trustees present their report along with the statement of accounts of the Charity for fhe year ended 31 August 2024. The statemenf of accounts have been prepared in occordance with the accounting policies set out in note I to the accounts and comply with the Charity's trust deed, applicable law and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice. Slructure, Govefnance & Managemenl Governlng Document The Derbyshire Federation of Young Farmers, Clubs governing document is the constitution adopted on 14 November 2013. Conslttutlon and Membershlp A County Federation is an association of the Young Famiers, Club5 in a County or such olher areas as shall be approved by the National Federation formed in accordance with the form of constitution and rules for County Federations approved by the Council of the National Federation. The County Federation shall be affiliated to the National Federalion. The members of the County Federalion shall consisl of: lal Ibl All Young Farmers, Clubs formed in Derbyshire and affiliated to the NFYFC. All persons who have been elected or nominated by the General Meeting as Honorary Members. Admlnlstratlon In the administration of the County, subject to their duties as Trustees, the Executive Committee shall have regard to the wishes of the Membership as stated at.. lal Ib) General Meeting5 Executive Committee Meetings The Financial Year of the County Federation shall end on 31 August. Trustees The Execulive Committee forms the Trustees of the Charity and has the power to appoint addilional Trustees. The Executive Committee consists of elected and co-opted members, the majority of whom are required to be over eighleen years of age and are the Trustees of the Charily. Any member under eighteen years of age may not vole on matters which affect the management of the Chaiity. {al Elected Members representatives each Member Club is required to elecl annvally Iwo Ibl Co-opted Members The Executive Commillee may co-opt for such period as they may Ihink fil representatives of other organisafrions and individuals interested in the Young Farmers Movement in the County. The total number of co-opted members cannot exceed twelve persons.

Young Farmers, Club5 in the County by co-ordination of activities and otherwise; may co-operate with local authoritie5 and other bodie5 having the same or similar objects; may solicit and receive contribution5 to it5 funds, whether in the form of grants, donations, legacies, subscriptions, loans or ofhewise providing thot the County Federation shall not undertake any permanent trading activities in raising fund5 for the above-mentioned objects; may invest any monies nol immediately required for it5 purposes in such securities as are for the time being authorised by law for the investment of trusl funds and may transpose any such investments. and: may do all such other lawful acts and things as are necessary for the attainment of ifs objects. Ic) le) Revlew ol Acllvltles The financial results for the year are set out in the statement of accounts. ReseNes Pollcy The Resetve5 represent the uniestricled funds arising from past operating results. They also represent the free reserves of the charity. The Trustee5 believe Ihat the level of reserves is approprsate lo ensure the long-term stability of the Federolion. Report of Ihe Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2024 Risk Management The Trustees actively review the major risks which the Charity faces on a regular basis and believe that maintaining reserves at the current levels, combined with an annual review of the controls over key financial systems. will provide sufficient resources in the event of adverse conditions. The Trustees have also examined other operational and business risks which the Charity face5 and confirm that they have established systems to mitigale the significant risks.
Responsibililies ol Trustees Charity law require5 the Trustees to prepare accounls for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity at the year end and of its incoming resources and resource5 expended during that year. In preparing those accounts, the Trustees ore required lo: select 5Ultable accounting policies,. make judgements and estimales that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended piactice have been followed subject to any deportures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statemenls on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue in business. The Truslees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure Ihat the financial statements comply with the Chaflties Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding Ihe assels of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and delection of fraud and other irregularities.

Clubs Registered Charify No. 520540 INDEPENDE]YT EXAMINERS REPORT TO DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS CLUBS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST AUGUST 2024 We report on the financial statements of Derbyshire Federation of Young Fanners, Clubs for the year sl ended 31 August 2024, which are set out on pages Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner As the charities trustees you are responsible for the prq)aration of the accounts. you consider that the audit requirement under section 144 (2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 201 l Act) does not apply, and that an indq)endent examination is needed. It is our responsibility to examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act on the basis of procedures specified in the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act) whether particular matters have come to our attention. Basis of independent examiners report Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with these records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent examiner5 Statement In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention: i) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep proper accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met. 2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Accounllng Pollcles (a) Accountlng Convention The Accounts have been prepored under the historicol cost convenlion, except for investments which are included al market value. and in occordance with applicable Uniled Kingdom accounting standards, the Statement of Recommended Practice"Accounfing and Reporting by Charities" and the Charilies Act 2011. (b) Fvnd Accounling Unrestricted funds are available for the use at the discretion of the Iruslees in furtheronce of the general objectives of the chority. Restricted funds are to be used for specified purposes laid down by the donor. Expenditure for those purposes is charged to the fund, together wilh a fair allocation of overheads and support costs. Designated funds are unrestricled funds that have been designated for specific purposes by the TnJslees. (c) Incornlng Resources Income is recognised in the period in which the Charily is entitled to receipt and only when Ihe omounl can be measured with reasonable certainty. Income is deferred only when the charity has to fulfil specific conditions before becoming entilled lo it or where Ihe donor has specified that the income is to be expended in a future period.
