TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE 2025/26 FINANCIAL YEAR
The year was once again an extremely positive one for the charity.
Following on from the major refurbishment of the hall and grounds the previous year, further grants were obtained from Derbyshire Foundation which allowed for the purchase of new chairs, and our own income was used to purchase further equipment for the kitchen and bar. Assets worth £6,869 were purchased, and written down, during the year, leaving a surplus of £526.
Income from hire and events were the highest ever, at £4,151 and £15,987 respectively. The improved facilities meant that private hire increased for events such as birthdays and anniversaries; and a number of businesses hired the hall to host corporate events. Our own events – quizzes, bingo evenings, the music festival and pantomime – were again popular. Bar and food sales from our regular Pop-Up Pubs were a major income stream. The hall has become a centre of village life once again.
The charity ended the year in a strong financial position, with unrestricted funds of £7,162 and bar stock of around £400.
During the year, Rob Bowes stepped down as a trustee and we were delighted to welcome Laura Wright as a trustee and as treasurer. Thanks go to all of the trustees, and to our many volunteers who worked at our functions and events during the year.
