## Activities

**Objects:** The charitable purpose of the Unit (the Purpose) is to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual and social potential as individuals and as responsible citizens by the provision of education and leisure time activities using a nautical theme and in accordance with the principles, ethos and practices of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC).

**Activities:** Unit of the Sea Cadet Corps, with about 50 cadets, boys and girls, aged 10 to 18, who meet twice a week in the evenings for training and who sail on Saturday mornings in the summer. The aims are to encourage young people towards responsible adulthood. The Royal Navy provides uniforms and some training and operates a rigorous inspection system. Each unit is an independent charity.
