The Trustees present their report with the financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 31 March 2025. The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Charities SORP (FRS 102): 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)'

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
Nunsfield House Community Association is constituted under a trust deed dated 26 April 1967 as amended on 9 March 1988 and further varied by schemes dated 3 June 1997, 17 January 2012 and 28 May 2013. It is registered with the Charity Commissioners (No. 520402).
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Any new appointments are at the recommendation of the board.
All new trustees are given, in the view of the board, sufficient training and have enough knowledge of their specific field to understand the nature of the charity and fully comply with the charities current views of its progression.
Organisational structure
The charity was administered during the year by a Trustee Management Committee.
The Trustee Management Committee members are appointed by the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
Related parties
Nunsfield House Community Association rents part of Nunsfield House to Nunsfield Social Club Limited. This organisation was set up in order to comply with the Charity Commissioners' requirements with respect to noncharitable trading.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The objects of the association as defined in its Constitution are:

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area contained in the administrative boundaries of the Parish Council of Alvaston, Boulton, Allenton & Shelton Lock as existing on February 1, 1967 (hereinafter called the area of benefit) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving

- To establish, or secure the establishment of, a Community Centre and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects.

To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined
The Association shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion.

The main activities of the charity are:

the provision of room hire facilities to members, local clubs, associations and private functions for meetings and social events.

the rental of space to Nunsfield House Social Club.
In shaping our objectives and planning activities, the trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, including the guidance ‘public benefit : running a charity (PB2)’.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
The majority of income for the charity is derived from the room hire facilities of Nunsfield House, with a number of groups and organisations using the facilities on a regular basis.
The room rental income and hire charges amounted to £31,049 (2024: £27,201).
Nunsfield House Community Association also rents part of Nunsfield House to Nunsfield Social Club Limited. This organisation was set up in order to comply with the Charity Commissioners' requirements with respect to noncharitable trading. Monies received from Nunsfield Social Club Limited this year consisted of £0 (2024: £0) for room rent, rent payments having been suspended since the Social Club failed to generate sufficient income to fund payments this year. Profits covenanted from Nunsfield Social Club Limited this year were £0 (2024: £0).
During the year ended 31 March 2025, the Community Association made grants of £10,000 (2024: £12,000) to assist the Social Club with the increase in utilitiy bills suffered as a result of the energy crisis.
Nunsfield House Community Association bank and cash deposits at the end of the year were £12,239 (2024: £5,023).
Nunsfield House is owned by Derby City Council and leased to Nunsfield House Community Association on a peppercorn lease. Derby City Council maintains the general building and the Association maintains the interior.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves policy
The Association has a reserves policy of £5,000.
At 31 March 2025, the charity had unrestricted reserves (excluding fixed assets) of £22,552.
The committee is satisfied that the charity's assets are available and adequate to fulfil its obligations.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
Due to increase in enquiries for Hire of the function room it has been decided to refresh/re-design the paintwork to enhance the rooms appearance.

Report of the Independent Examiner to the Trustees of Nunsfield House Community Association
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention giving me cause
to believe that in any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
ACCOUNTING CONVENTION
The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
INCOME
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
EXPENDITURE
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. Fixtures, fittings and equipment - 15% on reducing balance
TAXATION
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Restricted funds are to be used for specified purposes laid down by the donor. Expenditure for those purposes is charged to the fund, together with a fair allocation of overheads and support costs.
Unrestricted funds are donations and other incoming resources received or generated for expenditure on the general objectives of the charity.
Designated funds are unrestricted funds that have been designated for specific purposes by the committee.

7. RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS
Nunsfield House Community Association rents part of Nunsfield House to Nunsfield Social Club Limited. This organisation was set up in order to comply with the Charity Commissioners' requirements with respect to noncharitable trading.
Monies received from Nunsfield Social Club Limited this year consisted of £0 (2024: £0) for room rent, rent payments having been suspended since the Social Club failed to generate sufficient income to fund payments this year. Profits covenanted from Nunsfield Social Club Limited this year were £0 (2024: £0).
During the year, there were transactions between the two entities, with loans made between them, money received into the Social Club on behalf of the Community Association and payments made by the Social Club on behalf of the Community Association.
During the year ended 31 March 2025, the Community Association made grants of £10,000 (2024: £12,000) to assist the Social Club with the increases in utilitiy bills suffered over the past years.
At the year end, the Social Club owed the Community Association £15,687 (2024: £12,595).
