Scotby Village Hall Scotby Carlisle CA4 8BW Charity Number: 520365 ## **Trustees Annual Report 2021/22** It has been a very uncertain year for the Scotby Village Hall Committee. The original committee of five members, decreased to three, when sadly two valued committee members Mark Sommers and Cllr Barry Earp passed away early 2022. The treasurer first left the committee, then poor Mark the new treasurer fell ill & died. Dave Hughes assumed the role of Treasurer, Chair & Booking Secretary. The music licence was forgotten, but no events were held which required one. We received three Grants totalling £18,469.21, this year to help us through covid. £10,000 paid to the Parish council, in the new tax year ring fenced for roof repairs in the summer. Scotby Village Hall continues to be a ‘beacon’ within the community and wider community, providing a variety of classes for all interests. The Scotby pre-school continues to operate from the main hall, providing childcare for children aged 2, 3 & 4 years old. Regular users are starting to increase post Covid, as is private hire of the hall/s. We are looking to the future to recruit more committee members making improvements within the village hall and increasing hall usage.
