There<br>are currently approximately 130 young<br>people benefitting from the activities of 1st<br>Tarporley Scout Group on a regular basis.<br>As well as benefitting members of the scout<br>group directly, the group also benefits the<br>wider community by activities such as<br>volunteering for local food bank, litter<br>picking and organising community events<br>such as fireworks night.|

At the heart of their<br>role is a focus on strategy, performance<br>and assurance.<br>Effective Trustee support helps other<br>volunteers run the Scout programme that<br>gives young people skills for life.<br>Members of the Group Trustees Board<br>must act collectively as charity trustees of<br>their charity, and in the best interests of the<br>charity’s members.<br>In addition to the Trustees, all activity of 1st<br>Tarporley Scout Group is delivered through<br>volunteers including the Group Scout<br>Leader, Section Leaders, Assistant Section<br>Leaders, Section Assistants, and Group<br>Advisors.|

The sections all meet weekly<br>during school term times, and additionally<br>undertake some weekend and holiday time<br>activities such as camps, parades and<br>inter-group competitions.<br>The Trustees do not want subs to be a<br>barrier to any Beaver, Cub, Scout, or<br>Explorer being a member, and Subs are<br>waived (confidentially) in such cases.<br>A full report of the achievements over the<br>year is available in the minutes of the AGM.|

|||The Group has a low appetite for financial<br>risk and loss in capital through exposure to<br>high risk investments or financial products.<br>**Emergency fund**<br>The Group will keep £20,000 (circa 12<br>months’ operating expenses) in a high-yield<br>savings account for immediate access and<br>capital preservation. This figure will be<br>reviewed and adjusted accordingly on an<br>annual basis on the production of each<br>year’s accounts.<br>**Investment account**<br>Any funds available for longer term<br>investment can be investment in low or<br>low/medium risk savings accounts. These<br>accounts may be fixed term or notice<br>accounts to achieve a greater return / rate<br>of interest. First preference is that these<br>accounts are with UK retail banks and any<br>deposits are covered under the FSCS<br>scheme<br>The ultimate aim is that any capital<br>expenditure can be funded from the<br>investment account to preserve the<br>emergency fund|

Beavers Cubs Scouts - Subs are collected via OSM.
Ex
lorers - Explorers are part of Chester & Discounts Explorer group bLrt are hosted in Tarporfey as such they contribute to the
upkeep of the hul and equipment. Tarporley group assist with the collection of the subs via OSM, as Explorers are a much valued
part of our community and contribute to fundraising the group cover the cost of OSM.

5. Investment account yielded £192 interest. This is induded in the funds transfer below to avoid double counting.
6. The Investment account was dosed by Scout Associats"on in June 2023 and balance transferred to current account.
7. Capitation is the amount paid to Cheshire Scouts a proporb.on of which is paid to Scouts HQ. capitab.on is paid in arrears, i.e. the
payment made in March 2024 covered 2023124 membership.

Basis of Eiaminer's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioner's. An examination includes a review of the aw)unting records kept by the charity and a
omparison of the accounts presented with those r&ords. li also includes consideration of any unusual
items of disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Irustees concerning Any such
matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be r￿Uired in an audiL and
¢onsequently I do not expr&ss an audit opinion on the view given by the arxounts.
