The Iruslees present their annual report and financial slalements for the year ended 31 December 2025.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial slalemenls and comply with the chaiily's governing document, the Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 "The
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland and the Charities SORP "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice appli¢able to charities preparing their accounts in
ac¢ordan¢e with Ihg Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021"
Objectives and activities
The object of the charity is the provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the area
of benefit wilhoul distinction of political, religious or other options, including use for..
meetings. lectures and classes, and
other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation
with the object of improving the ¢ondilions of life for the inhabilanls.
Public benefit
The cornmillee observes & implements health & safety law. updates risk management procedure regularly and has
taken into account guidance on public benefit by the Charity Commission when exercising their duties.
Volunteers
The trustee committee gratefully acknowledge the role played by several volunteers from the local community in the
continuing success of Bickerton Village Hall.
Achievements and performance

In 2025, Bickerton Village Hall had another SU￿ss[u1 year. Usage was al a very high level throughout and good
income was obtained from User Groups, clubs, caravan iallies, parties. donations and other fLJnd-raising events.
Our 18th annual art exhibition was the best ever financially, raising about £9k.
The Iruslee committee observes & implements health & safely regulations. updates risk management wocedure
regularly and has taken note of guidance on publi¢ benef￿ by the Charity Commission when exercising their duties.
We gratefully a¢knO￿&d99 the role played by several volunteers from the local community in the continuing
success of Bickèrton Village Hall.
Flnancial review
After large-scale refurbishmenls carried out In 2024, maintenance works in 2025 were confined mainly to services
and repairs, although investments have been made in a new projector and flooring for the Collage. There have
been signifi¢anl increases in licensing fees and utility costs, particularly eleclricily. in 2025, bul the Hall funds are
still veiy healthy, leaving us in a good position lo carry OLJI further upgrades and improvements lo the Hall's
appearance and function in the coming year.

Rese￿eS policy
11 is the policy of the charity that unreslriGled funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al 8 level equivalent lo between three and six month's expenditu￿. The Iruslees Consider that reserves
al this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able lo continue the charity's
current activities while ¢onsideralion is given lo ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves
has been maintained IhroughDuI the year.
Structurè, govemance and manayement
The governing document is the Scheme dated 11 June 2008, and amended by a resolution (Jaled 27 February
2017.
The Holding Trustees musl hold the land belonging lo the charity. They are... Mr S Davies. Mr F D Nightingale, Mrs J
Siddorn, Mr R Siddorn and Mr R Proctor.
The Charity is to be administered by the management committee, whi¢h is composed of elected and appointed
mernbers in accordance with clause 8 of the Scheme dated 11 June 2008.

I report to the trustees on rny examination of the financial slalemenls of 8i¢kerton Village Hall Ohe charity) for the
year ended 31 December 2025.
Responsibilities and basls of report
As the Iruslees of the charity you are resporisible for the preparation of the financial statements in acGordance with
the rfyquiremenls of the ChariliesAct 2011.
I report in respecl ol my examination of the ¢harily's financial slalemenls carried out under section 145 01 the
Charib'es Act 2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the Gharilies Act 2011.

Charity informatlon
Bickerton Village Hall is a publi¢ benefit entity and a Tegislered charity in England and Wales and is
unincorporated. The address of the principal Offi￿ is Long Lane. Bick&rton, Malpas, Cheshire SY14 8AU.
1.1 Basis of preparatlon
The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordance with the d)arily's governing document. the
Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 °The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol
Ireland" I'FRS 102.1 and the Charilles SORP 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl ol
Recommended Praclice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in a¢cordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" (effective 1 January 20191. The
charity is a Public Benefit Enlily as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of thè provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a Slatanenl of
Cash Flows.
The financial slalemenls have departed from the Charities {A¢counts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo
the extènt required lo provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Slalemenl of
Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102 rather than the version ol the Slalement of
Recommended Practice which is referred lo in the Regulations bul which has since been withdrawn.
The financial slalements are prepared in sterting, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary
amounts in these linanaal slalements a￿ rounded lo the nearest £.
The financial slalemenl8 have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified to include the
revaluation of freehold properties and lo include investment properties and certain financial inslrunenls al fair
value. The principal accounting poli¢ies adopted are sel out below
1.2 Going concern
Al the lime of approving the financial slalemenls. the Iruslees have a reasonable expectation that the d)arily
has adequate resourtss to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
continue lo adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial slalemenls.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the dlscrelion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable
obje¢lives.
Reslricled funds are sublecl lo specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the reslri¢led funds are set out in the notes lo the financial slalements.
Endowment funds are subject to specific Conditions by donors that the capital musl be mainlalned by the
charity.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity is legally enlilled lo il after any performance conditions have been mel,
the amounts can be measured reliably, and il is probable th81 income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the ¢harity has been notified
of the donation, unless performance ¢ondilions require deferral ol the amount. Income tax recoverable in
relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised al the lime of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending dislribulion,
the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is Irealed as a

1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or conslruclive obligation lo transfer economic benefit lo a
third party, il is probable that a transfer of economic benefits wlll be required in selllemenl, and the arnounl of
the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up ol the lolal of dir￿1 costs and
shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs allributable lo a single
activity are allocated directly lo that aclivily. Shared costs which contribute lo more than one activity and
support costs which are not allributable to a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a bass
consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs ale allocated on the basis of lime spent, ancl
depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are initially measured al ¢ost and subsequently measured al cost 01 valuation, nel of
depreciation and any impaifmenl losses.
Depreciation is recognised so as lo write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their
useful lives on the following bases..

The gain or loss arising on the dispc>sal of an asset is determined as the difference between the sale prO￿edS
and the carrying value of the asset, and is recognised in the slalement of linan¢ial aclivilies.
1.7 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held al call with banks, other short-lerm liquid
investments with original maturities of three Months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overllrafts are shown
within borrowin9s in Current liabilities.
Critical accounting estimates and ludgements
In th8 application of the Charity's accounting policies, the Iruslees are required lo make judgements, eslirnalos
and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are nol readily apparent from olh?r
sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that
are considered lo be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The eslimales and underlying assurnplions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
eslimales 8re recognised in the period in ￿lch the estimate is revised where the revision affects only Ihal
period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
peri￿S.
