Good evening everyone and welcome to TS Seahawk
Firstly I would just like to get the boring bits out of the way
We don’t have a firedrill planned for this evening so if the alarm sounds the nearest fire escape is just to my right on the main deck or the front door of the unit and we will congregate on the car park
The toilets are through the passageway at the front door onto the mess deck and through the door on the right
My name is Elle Bates and I am currently the chair for the unit management team. I would like to welcome you all to our AGM and presentation evening. We appreciate you coming down to tonight and attending and its always nice to see the cadets rewarded for all their hard work gaining their qualifications throughout the year
The role of the unit management team is to raise funds for the running costs of the unit along with the equipment needed to enrich the cadet experience. We don’t receive any funding other than what we can raise through grants and donations so if anyone has any ideas or can help in any way please catch me at any time in the evening

Over the last year we have completed the last of the building works that we received a large grant from Biffa for and as you ca see the floor is looking great and the roof in now completed
In the coming months we would like to raise some money for new fire doors, some electrical work, lighting repeairs and insulation in the roof in this room to try and help with the lowering our utility bills as well clear the trees and weeds behind the building to give us some extra space to utilise.
We really need the support of the parents in this and we will be holding a working parties throughout the year. We will always share when these are n facebook and if anyone can give up a couple of hours to come down and give us a hand it will be greatly appreciated. We are always looking for volunteers whether it is coming and helping with the tuck shop or nutty or helping on event days or with diy
Being a committee member is very rewarding. As well as being proud of my own son I am proud of each and every cadet and love hearing about what they have been upto and achieved throughout the year which is why it is so great to see so many of you here tonight to share in their success.

My focus this year will be building a committee. Currently we only have 3 members and we could really do with some help. We meet once a month here at the unit usually on Wednesday evening for an hour so if this is something that you think you could commit to and like to get involved in let me know or if you any Grandparents, neighbours, aunties ,uncles want to get involved then that would be great
