Report of the Trnstees for the year ended 31 Deceniber 2023
The trustees submit their annual rcport and financial statements for the year ended
31 December 2023. The trustees have adopted the provision of the Statement of
Recommended Accounting Practice, Accounting and Rep)rting by Charities
(SORP 2005) issued in May 2008.
In preparing th¢ ar￿Ual rcport and fllMncial statements the trustees have taken
advantage of the conc¢ssions allowed for smaller charities.
The charity number is 519801 and the charity's principal address is Aylestone Roa(L

Review of the objectives, activities and achievements:_
(a)
To advance of the Greek Orthodox faith. Sunday service in church is
rnaintained to high standards.
To advance education and in particular but not exclusive education in the
Greek Orthodox cultur¢.
The relief of the elderly. sick and disabled rncmbers of the Greek Community
through the suppor¢ financial or otherwise.
To provide or assist in the provision of the facilities for recreation and othcr
leisure time occupation in thc interests of social welfare with thc object of
improving the life of the said beneficiaries and in particular but not
exclusively, the younger and elder member of the Community.

The Community Hall is always made available for Community events, promoting the
objectives of the charity. for religious. educational, cultural and charitable purposes.

All assets of the charity are held by the tn]stees in trust for the charity.
This report was approved by the trustees on 20 October 2024.

Independent Examinergs Report to tbe Trustees of Greek Orthodox Community
of Leleester
I report on the accounts of the T￿￿t for the year ended 31 December 2023 which are
set out on pages 4 and 5.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charity's trustees are reS￿)nSIble for the Preparation of the accounts. The
charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year and that an
independent examination is needed.
It Is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act);
follow th¢ procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners (undcr section 145 (9) of the 2011 Act;
State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of IndepeDdent Eiaminer's Statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting
records kept by thc charity and a compaTison of the accounts presented with those
records. It also includes considerntion of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts, seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matteTS.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be rcquired in
an audiL and consequently. I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the
accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statements
