## **Annual Report 2023** Cornerstone Family Church is now fully recovered from the global pandemic and enjoying increasing attendances throughout the year particularly at Hindley Green. The distinct difference between the two houses is alack of space for children’s work at Bryn while there is ample room for youth work, and for children of all ages even down to toddlers and babies at Hindley Green. We have wanted to extend and provide this extra space at Bryn since we were took over the long lease in 2018 but since we did not own the land the owners would not allow us to do it. During 2023 the land became available and because of our lease we were able to agree a very favourable price with the owners. We had some savings but were £20,000 short of the asking price. This was kindly donated by Jim Blackburn in memory of his late wife Audrey…It is now in our medium term plan to build a children’s wing and as promised it will bare her name. Thats good news and also negotiations for the terms of a new 25 year lease on the Bethel at Hindley Green are in their final stages so the future looks secure for the fellowship. The objectives have not changed but as a reminder of our purpose they are listed again below. ## **Objectives** ## **Evangelism** To lead as many as the Lord will allow to a saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and to nurture them in a growing relationship with God the Father through the Holy Spirit. refs. Matt 28:16-20, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Cor 9:22, ## **Fellowship** To establish one or more centres where the whole Word of God is taught faithfully in a practical and inspiring way. refs. Romans 15:4, 2 Tim 3:16, 2 Tim 4:2 ## **Equipping and Training** To establish and build up ministry teams and individuals with the vision to reach all the various groups that make up our modern community. To help them in practical ways, to meet their spiritual need with prayer and to demonstrate the love of God. Always to be ready to share the good news of Jesus Christ as their heart become softened. ref. Eph 4:1-16 ## **The Great Commission** Jesus has commissioned us, equipped us and commanded us to go into all the world and make disciples teaching the ways of the Kingdom of God. refs. Matt 28:19,20, Mar 16:15-18 All of our members should be able to articulate the simple gospel message and everyone has a unique testimony. We can all invite people to come to church gatherings and events but it may still be difficult to show the love of Jesus to people in a world that has been hardened against the gospel. Therefore as well as the regular church activities we have several practical ministries that serve the whole community without condition or expectation but simply to demonstrate Gods love for everyone. ## **Sunday Morning Services** Hindley Green 10.45 -12.00 noon. Breaking of Bread service Creche, Children’s Church and Youth Group ## **Sunday Evening Services** ## Bryn 7:00pm Going forward into 2024 until a children’s facility can be built the meetings at Bryn the meetings will be held in the evenings. ## **Mid Week Activities** Various regular and ad hoc meetings are arranged at the Bethel to serve the church and the community on most nights and details of these can be found from week to week on the church and community websites. ## **The Bethel Toddlers** We provide a safe and inspiring place where local families can enjoy the company of other parents and carers whilst the children play. Their imaginations can run free among our numerous toys and creative crafts and they love the way we finish each session with a community sing-a-long. Our vision is to enable local families to relax and enjoy their children whilst gaining wisdom and insight into parenting from the experiences of other parents and carers. To establish a life long bond with each other and to know that the Bethel is a place where someone can always come to find help in times of need. ## **The Bethel Trading Post** A place where people in need can get free groceries. No judgement, no referral system, no limit to the number of visits and never any requirement to pay or repay. Whosoever wants to come is welcome no matter what their circumstances. Our goal is to take the pressure off local families who from time to time may find themselves struggling financially. Food is donated by Aldi, Lidl and M&S, we purchase some essential supplies as we are able to raise funding and local gardeners often bring in their surplus to help others in exchange for what they need to meet their own lack... There is no need for that, they just want to do it. We are open at the Bethel on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.
