The charity is a Christian Church Group dedicated to the propagation of the Christian Gospel by means of worship, preaching and prayer meetings and personal witness in whatever facility, owned or rented, we see fit. The Group may also facilitate social activities and practical helps to the wider community. Leaders and trustees are developed and appointed from within the known members of the group and those who might from time to time join the group.
The Year 2020
The year started as previous years until the Covid19 Pandemic caused The UK government to order the closure of public meeting places from the 23rd March for a 12 week period. Two or three members held a meeting in our church facilities on alternate weeks and broadcast them live on social media sites where attendance was good. We also broadcast a short message each day at 4:00pm to keep communications open with those who were feeling isolated. Much of the churches income was maintained with faithful members switching to online giving. We opened the doors for services as soon as the government allowed and whilst we followed the social distancing and other
hygiene procedures about half our numbers returned but many felt it better to stay away.
We did open the Bethel facility for The Trading Post to distribute free food to needy local families on three mornings each week and that facility was still ongoing at the end of the year and looking like it would need to continue indefinitely.
A two local government grants were received and these were used to buy essentials to be distributed through the Trading Post.
We started the year with Mother and Toddler Groups on Mondays and Tuesdays and these were stopped because of the government lockdown and did not recommence during 2020.
The churches finances remained in a healthy state throughout 2020 and despite the difficulties there was a sharp increase in turnover.
The reason for that is the accounts previously submitted were only for Bryn Christian Community Church (old name) and now Hindley Green Family Church (old name) has been added to the group and the accounts include
The previous names have now been phased out completely and Cornerstone Family Church has the scope to function without geographical restrictions.
The Accounts for the year are attached.
