## **PASTOR'S REPORT**

## **PERIOD : April 1[ST ] 2024- March 31[st] 2025**

In the past year ( Apr 2024-Mar 25) it is with a deep sense of indebtedness and thankfulness to the grace of God that we as Living Hope Church have continued to function as a local church and have complied with all our church constitutional obligations.

During this period like most city-based churches there have been some folk who have visited and stayed and others who have simply moved on elsewhere. We acknowledge with affection and thankfulness for their services offered. It is noted that in general, the trend of our average Sunday attendance for this period (Apr 24-Mar25) has increased across all ages. However, the attendance of midweek meetings continues to be significantly lower. There are many multifactorial explanations for this ongoing trend such as changes in shift patterns and childcare demands.

We have been able to perform these functions in response to the generous financial and practical support of our regular church members and adherents.

We appreciate the continued commitment of our Eldership and many others in areas of ministry activities such as Sunday School, administration and hospitality.

**ESSENTIAL REPAIRS** : During this financial period, we have invested monies received from the FIEC (previous financial year) into essential infrastructure maintenance: Roof repair over the Ignite Centre, major ground clearance around church site and installation of signage. These are in addition to the ongoing burgeoning costs of maintaining two properties and salary costs for Pastor.

We are deeply grateful to God in blessing His people to give both generously, sacrificially and above all cheerfully to the work of Living Hope Church. Giving must also be seen in the time and investment of energies into the ongoing needs of our church family.

## **RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES & MISSION**

Throughout this period the church has met for weekly Sunday worship along with regular midweekly meetings for Bible instruction and prayer.

The church has remained to support the Pastor and Eldership in their ministry of the Word, Sacraments and pastoral oversight. The church has benefitted from the preaching gifts of our Elders as well and other speakers.

In addition to these the church acknowledges the hugely beneficial Women’s ministry entitled Soul Sisters led by Pastor’s wife Rachel.

The church is grateful that through its regular cohort of volunteers has brought Bible instruction to children of all ages and Youth. We are in particular indebted to the ongoing support of Mrs Beth Harvey who co-ordinates the Sunday School work.

During this period the church has benefitted from the introduction of a choir with accompanying musicians. Supported, as always by our volunteers with expertise in all things technical.

Additional Capital investment of a replacement Sound Desk has helped enormously in our inhouse and online sound quality.

## **MISSION:** LOCAL

The offer of the Gospel is offered without discrimination to all who attend our mainstay services and voluntary activities.

We are grateful to our volunteers who serve alongside Pastor in the Ignite Café each Wednesday.

We continued to support a local Evangelist in facilitating an annual Christmas outreach meal to Turkish Muslims.

## **MISSION** : NATIONAL (FIEC COMMITMENT)

The church continues to support the FIEC as part of our commitment to UK Mission. Our affiliation highlights to prospective visitors our doctrinal positions on major salvific doctrines and other essential matters such as sexual ethics and church governance. Pastor continues to benefit from ongoing training updates via the FIEC Pastors’ network.

## **MISSION** : INTERNATIONAL

We have continued to support the Persecuted church through Release International. We continue to support mission in Nigeria through Sahlom Global Missionary Outreach. We continue to support the ministry work AsiaLink.

## **RELIEF OF POVERTY**

We have offered emergency financial relief to some within our fellowship. For confidential purposes names have been withheld from our public records.

We have continued in our spiritual and practical support of those Christian organisations that contribute to the relief of the poor:

On behalf of the Eldership and as Pastor of Living Hope I heartily commend this Report to the glory of God. It demonstrates our continued compliance to our Charitable Objectives.

Pastor Jonathan J. Jolly
