PASTOR'S REPORT
In the past year it is with a deep sense of indebtedness and thankfulness to the grace of God that we as Living Hope Christian Church have continued as a local church.
It has been a year suitably described by the UK Prime Minister as 'unprecedented'.
The year of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.
Throughout this most challenging year under the Leadership of the Elders and Trustees we have faithfully sought to be obedient to the World of God and the words of our civic leaders. The UK government for necessary reasons at the time imposed Public Health restrictions upon the public gathering of the Church. This commonly came known as 'Lockdown' During this extended period of Lockdown the church accomodated the use of technology and provided ministry of the World via the internet.
Regular Sunday services and midweek teaching were provided online. Opportunities for fellowship were facilitated by means of regular use of technology, Social Media platforms such as WhatsApp/Face-Book and Zoom.
Relief ministry subject to COVID regulations was maintained and a number of 'vulnerable' folks benefitted from this as well.
Like so many churches our financial giving was undoubtedly both impeded and impacted by people's own financial difficulties as well as the inability to give in person.
During this time the church greatly benefitted from the Government's furlough scheme which substantially subsidised the salaried staff of the church.
Despite the COVID Restrictions and in accordance with Biblical statutes and current UK legislation Living Hope Christian Church has publically demonstrated that it has operated as a local Christian church and by God's grace will continue to do so

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Living Hope Christian Church
Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Living Hope Christian Church
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Living Hope Christian Church (the Trust) for the year ended 31st March 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
