47" COVENTRY (ST.ALBANS) SCOUT GROUP
Charity No: 518468, Scout HQ, |rear of 78 Wyken Way, Stoke Heath, Coventry, CV23HG
TRUSTEES’ REPORT |FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31% MARCH 2021
This past year has beena difficult and trying one for the Group. Covid restrictions meant that the Sections were unable to meet at the headquarters. In the end unfortunately they were not able to meet for the whole year. [Some parents continued to pay the monthly subscriptions nevertheless. When it became obvious that meetings could not resume, these payments were returned to the parents. Also, the PGL adventure camp planned for the Cubs and Scouts had to be cancelled and PGL refund¢d most of the money already paid to them.
The Group’s weekly Bingo Club and associated “100” club held at the Church Centre also could not take place so the Group lost virtually all its income. So the Government grants awarded because the Group pay$ business rates were very welcome as expenses such as the annual membership fee to the S¢out Association, the annual ground rent for the HQ, electricity and water bills, etc still had to be paid.
The Leaders did their best to ke¢p in touch with the members via social media, zoom meetings and delivering materialls to the homes to enable members to work towards earning badges. Inevitably the shutdown led to the loss of some members but fortunately not too many.
The Group is working to quickly
rebuild things back to way they were.
