# Woodham Village Community Associaton Treasurers Report Year and Mission Statement Ending 31[st] December 2022 

As at the 31[st of] December 2022 we had Bank reserves of £54,824.77 Which included £3,000 of Protected Funds re Defbrillators and £10,000 Covid recovery fund reserves. See atached Income and Expenditure Accounts - Balance Sheet 

## Treasurers Report. 

## SPECIAL NOTE. 

These accounts were prepared in Feb and presented to the Committee. 

We have delayed the final issue to the Charity Commission because of the extraordinary situation regarding energy costs. We had previously entered into 3-year fixed contracts for both Gas and Electricity which were ending in late September 2023. We were unable to estimate what the potential major price increases could be or how this would affect our reserves and future budgets. 

We now know these figures and have renewed over another 2-year fixed period for electricity and 1 year fixed for Gas. We therefore are confident that the Accounts do not need any adjustment or qualification. 

Our year saw us increase income from extra temporary activities that may be limited to end late 2023, also good donations gave us a surplus of nearly £10,000 

Our previous cautious and prudent management had meant we did have confidence that we could weather any downturn (even Major) in activities and cover overheads and this increase of reserves puts us in a very healthy place. 

## Mission Statement. 

We will continue to provide a venue for safe and high-quality community activities to all members of our community and work with other organizations in the wider area to promote Charity activity that is beneficial. A great example being our leading the 24hour public access Defibrillator project with 37 units now deployed in the wider area of Newton Aycliffe.

## **Independent examiner’s report** 

To the Trustees of Woodham Village Community Association. 

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above Charity: - 

## **Financial Year ended 31st December 2020.** 

As Trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
