Report to the trustees for the year ending 31[st] March 2022
The Governors of Llanidloes High School Fund present their annual report and audited accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the trust deed and the Charities SORP (FRS 102).
OUR AIMS
The objects of the School Fund are for the advancement of the education (including social and physical opportunities) of all our pupils.
Therefore, we see it as our responsibility to encourage our pupils’ talents through enjoyable, engaging activities both within and beyond the curriculum.
We help each child to explore the ultimate questions of life, broaden their interests and develop upright personal qualities. We carefully foster integrity, respect and kindness for others and strong communication skills.
Our staff embrace creativity, encourage teamwork and promote an outward-looking care for the wider community.
Consequently, we have created a school culture that helps shape our young people into ethical, disciplined, happy and high achieving citizens of tomorrow.
We have an exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular activities. All the main team games are offered, and pupils successfully compete at county and international levels. We have a wealth of musical and theatrical talent. Local clergy regularly join us to help our children explore some of the most fascinating ultimate questions of life. Out Art and Design & Technology areas showcase students’ work both within school and in local exhibitions. The Duke of Edinburgh scheme is well established and popular at all levels with expeditions for Bronze, Silver and Gold becoming regular features of the school calendar. Many clubs and societies are available to pupils, both during and after school, and new staff are encouraged to contribute to this vital aspect of school life.
The school celebrates achievements of the pupils in an annual Presentation Evening. A number of visits abroad take place each year including skiing and trips across Europe.

OUR OBJECTIVES
----- End of picture text -----
Our objectives are set to reflect our educational aims and the ethos of the School. It is important to us that we maintain and enhance the academic success of the School.
The school fund was established to assist pupils raise money for charity, arrange school trips, performances. Run events like proms, raise money for improvements to facilities, ie ASD centre enhancement.
The charitable side is incredibly important to us as a school and our wider community. To embed the need to give back to the local community and wider charities. Our pupils in Year 10 and Year 12 undertake fundraising as part of their Welsh Baccalaureate qualification.
REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
During this financial year our income has increased due to the increased uptake of places in the Ski trip and Iceland trip. These are once in a lifetime experience for many pupils who participate in these trips.
The school has undertaken Charity fundraising for Hope House as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification. And a very successful prom was held at Maesmawr hall, Caersws. A brilliant celebration of pupils especially after the tough educational years of Covid.
ACADEMIC
In the recent past, A-level results helped place the school in The Times top 10 state schools in Wales. Indeed, the Sixth Form has a strong history of supporting pupils to achieve places at Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities. We will continue to ensure our most able students have an open door to world class higher education when they leave us for pastures new. It is little wonder that our vibrant Sixth Form is so popular, with increasing numbers of students travelling from far and wide to access the caring, close-knit and supportive learning environment.
The school fund accounts for the year ending 31st March 2022 have been duly audited and no irregularities found. All monies raised are/have been used to the benefit of the pupils of Ysgol Uwchradd Llanidloes High School.
