Activities
In the interests of the protection and conservation of the environment of Merseyside and the promotion of wider sustainability issues, MET engages in the following activities: organising events, meetings, educational opportunities, fundraising, awarding grants, provision of knowledge and expertise and working in partnership with other organisations.
Objects: A) To Stimulate Public Interest In The Care For Lane And Buildings Of Particular Environmental Or Architectural Interest In And Around Merseyside And To Encourage Conservaton And Enhancement Of Such Land And Buildings For The Public Benefit. B) In The Interest Of Social Welfare To Provide Or Assist In Provision Of Facilities For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life Of The Persons For Whom Such Facilities Are Intended Provided That Such Facilities Should Be Available To Th Public At Large. (C) To Promote Sustainable Development For The Benefit Of The Public By: (I) The Preservation, Conservation And The Protection Of The Environment And The Prudent Use Of Resources;(ii) The Relief Of Poverty And The Improvement Of The Conditions Of Life In Socially And Economically Disadvantaged Communities;(iii) The Promotion Of Sustainable Means Of Achieving Economic Growth And Regeneration.(d) To Advance The Education Of The Public In Subjects Relating To Sustainable Development And The Protection, Enhancement And Rehabilitation Of The Environment And To Promote Study And Research In Such Subjects Provided That The Useful Results Of Such Study Are Disseminated To The Public At Large.sustainable Development Means “Development Which Meets The Needs Of The Present Without Compromising The Ability Of Future Generations To Meet Their Own Needs.”
