Stanley Village Community Association Annual Report 2025
I would like to begin by thanking the committee for all their hard work over the past year, as well as the parish council for the support they have provided. I would also like to extend a special thanks to all the officers who have served on the committee.
Our thanks go to Anne for her efforts in organising the music afternoons, which have brought in much-needed income. Since the preschool finished a few years ago, it has been important for us to find alternative sources of revenue, and this initiative has played a valuable role in that. The over-60s group is a relatively new addition and, so far, it appears to be going well.
We are also very grateful to the people of Stanley and the surrounding area, and we hope they enjoyed the Christmas tea. In addition, we would like to thank the many volunteers who give their time to support us throughout the year—your help is greatly appreciated.
Turning now to the gala, last year’s event was a success in many ways. However, there was a significant challenge at the end of the day, as there were not enough people available to help with clearing up. For this reason, it has been decided to take at least a one-year break from organising the gala, while we review how best to move forward. This does mean we will need to find alternative fundraising opportunities. The music events will continue to help, and we would warmly welcome any new ideas.
In terms of maintenance, we still need to address the condition of the committee room floor, which was noted in last year’s report and remains outstanding. More urgently, several of the radiators require replacement, and one of the boilers will also need upgrading.
Finally, thank you once again to everyone for your continued support. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to speak to us—we would be very pleased to hear from you.
