How charity is constltuted
The charity shall bo administered by the Headteacher
under the general oversight of the governors in
accordan￿ with the regulations issu8d by the Local
Education Authority l Trust.
The governors may invite the co-operation of other
persons with specialist knowledge or experienc8 of the
needs of the school to assist the work of the charity but
such persons shall not be officers of the charity.
Trustee solection methods
Trustees and offi￿rS of the charity shall be nominated
and appointed by govemors sitting on the school's
Finance and Premlses Sub Committee.
Objectives and activities
Summary of objectlve
To advance the education of the pupils of Marden High
School by providing or assisting in th6 provision of
educational, r8cr8ational and other charitable facilities
not normally provided by the Local Education Authority.

The fund may also undertake activities which promote
the charitable work of the school and further th8
edu¢2tion and advancement in life of the pupils.
Summary of maln actlvltles
The focus of our activities has be8n on educational
trips, our regular charitable fundraising events and
cultural events. Students have visited the theatre, taken
part in concerts and hosted I participated with visiting
performing arts organisations. Students have had the
opportunity to vlsit sites of historlcal and scientrfic
interest across the UK. Students with special
educational n8eds have taken part in enterprlse and
skills training.
Surnmary of rnain achiovements of tho charity during th8 year
Mard8n School Fund has supported numerous
sporting. cultural and charitable 8vents over th8 course
of the year, also numerous educalional visits including
those introducing students to the world of work.
Some of the highlights include a trip to France, the Isle
of Arran and a Buddhist Temple. There have been
visits to major employers in the region such as Nissan
and Newcastle University and numerous music events
Including our end of year student show.
Th6 fund has supported many students in need of
uniform and educational resources such as revision
guides.
