Our work this year has emphasised on continuing to support people to become more social as part of slow returning to normality from the pandemic. We’ve progressed with our change in approach to move away from before and after school childcare which was very underused towards workshops and learning sessions for young people alongside social and activity sessions for older people. The year saw the following activities:

Monday and Thursday luncheon club with between 10 and 12 older people using it, on each day
Monday supper/warm hub club, 5 to 8 people using it each week
Monday social club, 14 people attending
Tuesday over 60's craft club, 6 to 8 people using it each week
Children's workshops, Tues, Wed and Thurs 7-10 children attending each session
Prize bingo 6 events a year with 40 to 50 people attending
Special events for the community Queens Jubilee, ECA 50th birthday and King’s Coronation 40 to 70 people attending.
Participating in local fundraising events such as table top sales to help generate our own income and support activities in the centre.

Our community and the funding environment are changing, funding is increasingly difficult as availability of grant income is falling and people are struggling to afford the costs of activities, so we have continued to focus on low cost activities, good quality food, meaningful activities and opportunities to socialise. We know that isolation and loneliness remain the biggest health and social concerns for our community and so many of our group members don’t have extensive social networks which are so key to health and wellbeing and providing opportunities to be social will continue being the core element of our work going forward. We are thankful for the ongoing support from our local community, volunteers, brilliant staff and the community regeneration team.

The Charity's trustees consider that an audit Is not required for this year under section of 144 of the Charities Art 2011 Ithe Charities Artl and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to= Examine the accounts under section 144 of the Charities Act To follow the procedures laid (Jown in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 14515llbl of the Charities Act I; and To state whether particular matters have come to my attention Basis of Independent examiners report My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosufes in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
