From our Chairperson - Alison Dodds
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has welcomed and supported me in my first year as Group Chairperson for Stakeford Scouts; I have learned many new things and have still lots more to learn under the guidance of our experienced and hard-working Leadership Team. The Team works relentlessly at weekly meetings and behind the scenes at home, to deliver a wide range of exciting and challenging activities for our young people. Chief Scout’s Awards - the highest youth awards - have been gained in Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts; as have many and varied activity and challenge badges. All Sections are operating at full capacity, with youngsters joining waiting lists too; a clear indication that our volunteers are delivering a great programme.
I am in awe of the enthusiasm and commitment of the adult volunteers who make the weekly sessions possible for all the Sections and the Group as a whole. Everyone works hard to ensure that Scouting Life at Stakeford is of the highest quality and full of enjoyment for our young members. Many thanks also, to our Trustees who undertake necessary administrative tasks to assure good financial and operational governance in accordance with Scout Association rules and regulatory compliance.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank firstly, the Elders and Members of Stakeford Methodist Church for welcoming us once again for our Group Christmas Carol Service, which was a resounding success. Secondly, I would like to thank the staff and clients at Stakeford Nursery for the complementary grounds maintenance service they provide at our Hall; this is greatly appreciated
Keep up the amazing work everyone!
