Para 1.21 | The charity remains in a good financial position to continue operations, despite the substantial extra expenses which started last season. This is due to a successful claim for orchestra tax relief. Our main concern for the future is the impact of covid 19 on our audience for the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons, together with operational difficulties which will be caused by the social distancing rules. |

STOCKPORT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Independent Examinerfs Report to the Trustees I report on the ac¢ounts of the stCkp0rt SyTnphony Orchestra for the year ended 31 July 2020, which are set out on pages 2 to 3. Respective responsibillties of the trustees and examiner The charitls trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitys trustees consider that an audit15 not required for this year under section 14412} of the Chariiies Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. - examine the accounts under sectKin 145 of the Charities Act- - follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515){bl of the Charities Act., and - state whether particular matters have come to my attenlion. Basls of independent examinerfs statement My examination was carried out in accordance wth the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting rerdS kept by the charity and a comparison of Ihe accounts presented with those records. 11 also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequenuy no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
