**Objects:** (A) TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE PUBLIC STUDY OF BRITISH FAMILY HISTORY, GENEALOGY, HERALDRY AND LOCAL HISTORY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. (B) TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, SECURTIY AND ACCESSABILITY OF ARCHIVAL MATERIAL.

**Activities:** Providing advice and help to people researching their family history, both in the UK and world wide both via books and CDs of data re births marriages and deaths, and also individual enquiries. This service is not just limited to Society Members.
