Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The charity continues to make a significant
positive impact on its members and the
wider rural community. With a membership
base of over 600 young people, the charity
has seen continued growth, reflecting its
strong reputation, relevance, and appeal to
young people across the county.
Throughout the year, the Chairty
successfully delivered its full calendar of
events, competitions, training sessions,
and social activities. These opportunities
enabled members to develop key life skills
including leadership, teamwork,
communication, and resilience. Many
activities focused on practical and
transferable skills, enhancing employability
and supporting personal development,
particularly for young people in rural areas
who may face social isolation or limited
opportunities.
The charity’s work has fostered a strong
sense of belonging and community, helping
members build lasting friendships, improve
confidence, and support their mental
wellbeing. Wider benefits to society include
the development of engaged, skilled, and
community-minded young adults who
contribute positively to local communities,
agriculture, and the rural economy.

Through its inclusive and supportive approach, the Chiarty continues to play a vital role in empowering young people and strengthening rural communities across Leicestershire.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 At the end of the reporting period, the
Chairty recorded a surplus of £28,898.92.
This surplus primarily arose from the
disbanding of an annual donor
organisation, which generously gifted its
remaining funds to the charity. As a result,
the charity has also lost a regular annual
income stream, which will need to be
replaced going forward.
The Trustees recognise that this is a one-
off increase rather than an ongoing source
of income. Over the next 12 months,
careful consideration will be given to the
most effective and sustainable use of these
funds while actively exploring new funding
opportunities to ensure long-term financial
stability and continued delivery of services
for members.
The charity remains in a stable financial
position, with appropriate oversight in place
to ensure funds are managed responsibly
and in line with its charitable purposes.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
