Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The 2022-23 year has seen the charity go
from strength to strength with our highest
membership total for more 20 years (628
members). We hosted our second farm-
based Harvest Festival with over 200
members in attendance from all over the
county as we gave thanks to the harvest.
Leicestershire Police open their doors to us
for a day of demonstrations and talks on
crime prevention in rural settings. We once
again hosted our Drive-In Living Nativity for
the local community and in aid of local
good causes. As well as the 800 people in
attendance the Nativity was broadcast live
on the local radio station reaching an even
larger audience. Our first county-wide farm
walk was a particular highlight with over
250 past and present members viewing the
many aspects of a local farming enterprise.
This was followed by our Agri debate in
which a very accomplished panel
discussed current topics including food
inflation, sustainability, and new entrants.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 At the end of this period LFYFC made a
forecasted loss of £7409.51.
The loss was a remaining fallout of COVID.
The federation offered financial support
clubs to help them recover from the
difficulties left by covid and reduced the
membership levy to encourage
membership growth. Largely due to the
increase in membership, the charity is
budgeting a health profit for the next
financial period to replace this year's loss.
