Income from grants, events, collections, donations, including gift aid amounted to £45769. Expenses for our events came to £7043 and Donations and Community Youth service outlined below totalled £36452. Funds received benefited from the Attick Youth Charity Closing and transferring £7755 to Rotary Monmouth to be spent on youth services in Monmouth.
Our major events of the year were held as planned
The Raft Race ------------------------September Bonfire Night---------------------------November 5" Santa’s Sleigh-------------------------December The Model Railway Exhibition-----February Walk the Wye--------------------------May
In addition, Street Collections for Ukraine and Myanmar relief were held
We also held for the first time a Community Charities event where we invited local charities and groups to apply for a sum of money for specific projects. The event was a great success with more than £6000 being donated to the various successful applicants.
Donations were also made to St David’s Hospice. Newport. Velindre Breast Cancer Research, Bridges Monmouth
We also made various donations to other local and International Charities throughout the year.
In our youth programme we continued to send students to RYLA, and World Affair seminars.
We also continued to support Youth Speaks, a very popular national Debating competition. For the first time we extended the Youth Speaks to primary schools which under the chair of our youth chairman Olwen Davis was extremely successful and we hope to build on that success by opening it to a wider range of Primary Schools.
