Section C
Ob"ectives and activities
Muslim Welfare Society, established in 1955 to provide prayer facilities
for Muslims and support for the local community. Muslim Welfare
Society provides religious and educational facilities for the community
of Darlaston. The Society also promotes both Islamic and British values
within the framework of its activities.

The Mosque was constructed in 1986, the Society undertakes
rna1ntenan￿. and to ensure the building both extemal and intemal
provide a good environment for visitors to use.
Children's Classes
Children are taught, how to read Quran, history lessons, develop good
morals and on how to develop and maintain a good character to benefit
all.
Provisions for School Educational Visits
Both staff and Children from local schools visit the Mosque, to support
inter-faith learning as part of school curriculum.

Bereavement SeNices
The Society's members voluntarily assist, the de￿ased'S family during
bereavement, when required assisting with all aspects of funeral
arrangements and support to the family.

Continuous development of moral and social values within the teaching
framework. In house training to stsff members conducted. Installation of
Smart Screens to allow a more interactive way of leaming. Workshops
held with local policing to discuss with the children, topics such as drugs
and intemet safety.
Bereavement Services
Funeral facilities were updated, and bereavement services y￿re
undertaken this year.

A lication
Planning Application has now been approved by Walsall Council for the
extension of the current building. This is to allow people with disabilities
to attend and ease of aC￿ss.
Further floor space to allow the Children classes to take pla￿ in
designated classrooms.
Proposed extensions and alterations to include 2 new minarets, front
entrance feature wrth dome, new pitched roofs, alterations to outbuilding
to create a mortuary and relatives, room, new doors and windows and
new car park and entrance
Fundraising for our New Mosque Extension & Develop project to start the
initial phase of Design and Development RIBA Phase 3.
Fundraising will continue for the lifecycle of the project, work will be
carried out in phases. Generally, Donations are re￿IVed from families,
local community members and the attendees ofthe Mosque.
