The charity Is governed by its constitutk)n and the Trustees are responsible for the admlnstration
and Investment policy of the Charity. The Trustees are appointed and removed by the Sadh
Sangat (Community).
A Managing Committee of members is appointed by the Sadh San8at to mana8e the day to day
operations. There are sub committees set up to cover buildin8 develownent arKI maintartr,
youth related activities women social welfare, religious and Punjabi education.
Objectlves and actl
The objective of the charlty to be the furtherance of Sikh rellgion In accordance with the teachings
od Sir Gufu Granth Sahib. Whllts the primary objective of the chaflty Is to eneble those of a Sikh
herltage and Sikh commltment to share a place of worship, San8at (Con8regation) and langer
(communal kitchen and food), the GNG prfdes Itself on belng able to extend Its bulldln8 and its
volunteers time to all members of the Wairfn8ton communlty and neighbour1￿ towns.

The trustees and the management committee have had due regard to the Charity Commisslon's
guidance on public benefit. In particular GNG has provided publi benefit in relation to the
advancement of religion and of community development particulary throught its education and
youth activities which involve local schools invited to GNG.

Increa51ng the knowlwdge of Slkhtsm and the functioning of the Gurdwara comminity focus and
public benefft of wider community. We have hosted Prlmary and Secondary from across
Cheshire. Students and teachers spend one to two hours Inslde the Gudwafa. They are 8lven a
tour of the Gurdwara and shown of the faalit*s provlded to the Sawdat and made aware of the
practices and traditional routine of prayers in the Gurdwara. They are tsken around the buildin8
and shown the lan8ar hall where all the worshlppers prepare food and eat together.
The trustees have taken great steps forward wlth the help of Mr Gumiel Slngh
Kandola of the Sikh council to follow the govemance of the tharfty.
The accounts for the year 2023-2024 are on tlme plus the accounts for the ￿ar 2024-2025 will be
handled even better because we have sought the help of an accountsnt who is the member of
The inteiior of IMIldi￿ ha5 been improved to suit the needs of the cOng￿8ation. new carpets were
fitted. the lightln8 has been replaced with more efficlent LED lights, the ￿l11Thg tlles
have been replaced with newer tiles that have insulation incorporated and many other
improvements that not onty make the Gurdwara a more pleasant experience to the con8re8atSon
and visitors l)ut also make the bulld1￿ more energy efficient.

inforniation. Monthty inome and expenditure is prepared and discussed on regularbasi& The
income of the charity for the year amounted to £96,50112023: £68.694) gmng a surplus of £6.702
(2023: surplus of £31.687).
Reserve pollcy
It is the policy of the tft￿lees to malntsln reserves on the general funds of the charlty equal to
about six M￿ths, expenditure. At the year*nd this would have required reserves of
about £25.(NJ). Artual free reserve5 amounted to £37,710 (2023: £40.318) after allowing for fixed

The trustees also feel that the charlty should follow the teachln8 of Guru Nanak and help the
needy. Hen￿ the Gurdwara has been providlng the food to homeless shelters and asylum seekers.
The Gurdwara also hosts many 5th001 trfps and scouts on learnlng trips.

in accordance with the requirements of the Charitles Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report In respect of my examination of the charltvs financlal statements carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examinatlon I have followed all the applicable
Direttions given by the Charity Commission under 5ectlon 145(51(b> of the ACL

The preparation of the financial satements requires the trustees to make judegement. estimate5
and assumptlons that addect the amounts reported. These estimates and judgements are
continually reviewed and are based on experlence and other factors. including expectations of
future events that are believed to be reasonable under the Circumstan￿5.
Unrestricted funds are available for the use at the d1￿CtiOn of the trustees to further any of the
charity's purposes.
