The Alherton Trust was Consliluted by a Trust Deed dated 28 September 1984 and updated
18 December 2013, 29 May 2015 and January 2018.The Charity's registered number is 515220.

The charities objectives were updated in January 2018 to reflect current S￿la1 circumstances and
communlly needs
The objectives of the charity are lo give financial support for the benefit of those resident in the
parishes of Ponlesbury and Hanwood and the village areas Df Annscroft and Hook-a-Gate for the
following purposes, the making of a grant to a deserving case from loss of parent, husband or child,
sickness or acudenl and lo a5SIs1 chi1dien of energy in impromng Iheii chance of eatning
livelihood,. to those incapacitated through affliction of mind or body and the dependents of sueh,. to
institutions who give or agree lo give when required succour and services lo people unfortunate
enough lo require aid by loss of sight, limb or health by accident or inevitable causes; lo aid
persons through no fault of their own are unable to meet urgent obligations.
The objects of the charrty are ID provide grants in the p8rishes of Ponlesbury and Hanwood and the
Ilage aieas of Ann5cxoft and Hook-a-Gate to-
relieve financial hardship for persons liwng in the area of benefft who are4n need.

promote, for the benefrt of the inhabitsnts, the provision of facilities for recreation or other
leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their
youth, age. infirmity or Ilisablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances

prowde support for young and disadvantaged people to develop skills, capabllS1ies lo enable
them to participate in society as mature and r9$ponsibl8 individuals.
The Trustees receive applications for grants from organisations and individuals. During the year, as a
result of the parKlemi¢, no grants were awarded. In reviewing the 9ranl applications for the year. the
Trustees have considered the Chaiily Commission's revised guidan￿ on public benefit and awarded
grants a￿ordinglY.

The Gharily is self funding and relies on income from ils investments.

The Trustees are advised by a professional fund manager.
Reserves
All the funds are unrestricted. The Trustee5 would normally pay Grants equivalent lo their
investment income.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE ATHERTON TRUST
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 5th April 2022, which are set out on
pages 4 to 7.
Responslbllltles and basls of the report
As the charrtV5 Iruslees you are responsible for the preparalk)n of the accounts in accordance with
the audit requirement of the char￿eS Act 2011 {The Actl.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under sè(*ion 145 of the Act
and In carryng out rny examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145151(bl of the Act.
Independont •xaminerfs statemènt
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection wth the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the chanty as required by section 130 of the
Act., or
the accounts do not accord wth Ilwse records., or
the accounts do not comply with the applic2ble requirements concerning the form and
conlenl of accounts sel out in the Charitie5 (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other
than any requirement that the accounts give a 'lrue and fair which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come acros5 no other matter5 in connection wlh the examination lo which
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts lo be
reached.
