The Trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to the guidance issued by
the Charity Commission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity
shoLJld undertake.
The club operates a number of volunteering activities which allow its members
to contribute to club funds. The club continued with the Great Yorkshire Show
grass Cutting on the local showground raising £620.00. The club uses its fund5
to affiliate itself to the County and National bodies in order to provide activities
and opportunitie5 for young member5 of the rural community. The club's
affiliated Tractor Run Committee operate5 the Knare5borough Tractor Run,
through which the club raised thi5 year approximately £24,000 for the Yorkshire
Air Ambulance. We are currently working away in the background with the
Tractor Run Committee to enable this fundraising event to run separately
outside the club with members and club leaders volunteering at the event
rather than involved in the management of the tractor run.
The charity recruits its members from a significant section of the community at
large. Everyone aged 10 to 28 years can be a member of Knare5borough YFC in
order to participate in activitie5 and discussions that increase their knowledge
of agriculture, crafts rural affairs and country life. The charity actively recruits
its members, aged 10 to 28 years, from a catchment area of 10 miles of
Knaresborough and Harrogate.
The club activities also contribute to and create leisure activities for members
and on occasion for the rural community in which the charity operates. The
community around the charity benefits from our members being active citizens
that contribute to the rural community.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration thal trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
Additional details of objectives and activitles (Optional information)
Aside from the membership fee paid by each member, a large number of them
contribute to the club's success by volunteering their time to run it. Driving
tractors for the grass Cutting, or Christmas tree collecting for instance, enables
the club to charge its customer for the work undertaken without the need to
take into consideration staffing costs.

The club's committee puts in untold hours in organi5ing the weekly meetings,
recruiting members and generally promoting the club's work in the community.
Some prominent members invest hugely in the club in this way and we are
lucky not to have to pay the staffing costs that would be associated with this
work otherwise, meaning that club funds can be used to provide opportunities
and training for members, and to put on events in the community.

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achiovements of the charity
during the year
This year, the club ha5 undertaken a variety of events designed to give the
members a degree of experience in rural industries which might help them to
find future employment. The Christmas tree collection enabled our junior
member5 to be involved from collecting trees from doorsteps and customer
service.
Once again members participated in the Harrogate District Rally, a competition
day which brings together a number of local club5 and members practicing rural
skills such as crafts, metalwork, cookery, stockjudging, clay shooting and sports.
The club's Tractor Run Committee ensured the club as a whole was involved in
the organisation of Britain's largest tractor run, which annually raises in the
funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The club also looked towards the
sustainability of the Tractor Run by working with the committee to secure its
future away from the general running of the club.
Section E

Brief statement of the
charity's policy on reserves

and/or unavoidable circumstance that brings a short-term fall in its
income..
> to permit the Charity, in the interests of meeting its charitable objectives,
to from time to time establish a new and innovative project on a projert
