For the vast majority of the year in question, the buildinE has been closed to the general public. This
obviously resulted in a loss of booking income but was mad up by being eligible for and receiving
government funded grants to alleviate this crisis.
2. Plannlng and preparatory work relating to Renovations and Internal improvement works
DurinE the 1st half of the year, planning and preparatory workfor improvement work continued under
the supeNision and management of a RIBA qualified Architect. This preparatory work included
obtalnlng relevant Building Regulations authorisation, and other associated inspections and approval,
and following a public Tender process for a suitably quallfied lead contrartor to undertake the works.
Funding for these renovations and improvements wa5 obtained from a combination of capital
balances from the Trust's financial account and funding from the Townscape Heritage Lottery Fund,
ITHI)
The second half of the year has been taken up with the commencement of these works.
The main areas of work5 undertaken can be summary as follows:
Major internal refurblshment and redesign of several rooms on the ground floor
Installation of a lift to improve access for people with special needs
Refurbishment of the Kitchen area
Refurbishment of storage areas and spaces adjoinSng the Main Building
External refurbishment to areas of roofing
The above works were not complete by the end of March 2021 and continued into 2021-2022, but
which have, by now, wlth the exception of a few minor remaining elements have been completed.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2021** . 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or 

- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
