History
The cliurch was founded in 1983 and operates as a Charilaljle Trust under its Trust
Deed dated 21st Oclober 1983, which also contains the Statement of Doctrines, and by
whl¢h the church life and buslness Is conducted.
A subsequent Deed of Variation dated 8 April 2000 was registereol Mqlh the Charity
Commlssloners.
Further Deeds of Vaiialion dated 13 D&c8mber 2010 aulhor18ed the change of name from
New Life Christian Fellowship, Conglelon lo New Life Church, Congleton and 19, January
2021 darifying Gonfllcls of inl&rest procedure8 of Trustee maalings.
The church began as a small house fellowshlp, often referred lo as a 'House Church,. As11
grew and expandsd, the church needed larger prem18es lo hold ils Sunday Servlces and to
develop other ministries in the local communily.
The church acquired the freehold on *h8 premises known as Dan88ford Communily Centro
from NCH Action for Chlldren, from whom the premises weré prevlously rented, during the
financial year ended 31" October 2000. Thè cost was £185,000.
Major Improvements and refurblshmenls have taken place and conllnu6 lo lake place as th8
Iruslees seek lo maintain the facility lo a high standard and ensure compliance with all health
and safety 8nd hygien8 r8gulatlons and standards.
A major first floor exlension was compleled in 2015 and provides four additional rooms and a
lea bar. All rooms are belng used exlensiv8ly and are provlng a gr¢al asset lo tho communlly
C8nlrè, which Is recognised as a Communlty Hub.
W8 are recognised as a Famlly Hub by Cheshire East Councll.
Revlew of centre faclllties
The exlengion to Ihe renamed Family Room whlch wa5 completed In the summer of 2017
has proved lo be a great addillon lo our cenlre facilllies.
The ohuroh's involvement in the community has continued to expand durlng the year with
numerous voluntary organisallons, clubs. socielles, fundraising bodies, especially those
Involving children and young people, uslng th8 cenlre.
The c8nlre also has a specially deslgnated Couns8lllng Room where people wllh difficult
personal Issues, Including addictions are helped.
New Life ChLJrch provides spaces on the car park lo housa the Congleton Community Part-
nershlp Mlnlbus and ils hlrelusauo diary and fuel Is managed through the church office.
New Llfe ChLfrch is a member of The Evangellcal Alllance, Churches Together in Congleton,
Conglelon Blble Woek and Glosèly associated wllh various local government communlly
partnerships, including the CVS {Council for Voluntary Service Cheshlre East), and active
member of E2sI Gheshlre Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise.

communlly centre In Conglelon for the use and benefit of local residents.
We have referred to tho guidance contalned In the Charity Commlsslon's general
guidance on publlc benefit when rèvlewlng our alms and oblectlvès and in plannlng
our future activitles. In partlcular, tha Irustees conslder how planned actlvltles wlll
contrlbute to the aims and oblectlves they have set.

The Iruslees normally Meet each month, except Augu31, to revigw and makfj decislons in all
mallers relallng lo the church fln8nc6s, employment, health and safely, 88f6guardinglchild
proleclion and the general ¥unnlng of Ilie cenlre. A full financial review is undertaken each
quarter. Minutes ol the meelings ar6 taken and maintained by the church admini8lrator.
The trustees employ a Church Admlnlslralor Louise Davies, whose contra¢l Is for 31.5 hours
per week for 42 weeks per annum.
None of the Iruslees recelve any financlal r8mtJnerallon or benef1ts in kind from Ihe Trust,
other than a Gonliibullon towards out ol packet expenses paid lo S Hodgklnson as declared
in the accounts.

Th8 Church holds an Annual General M8eling and for the year undor revi8w was held on
Sunday 8th February 2025 al which a summary of income and expendllure w89 presented,
together wllh a summary of mlnlslry reports.

Th8 church centre is lioensed and rogislered with th8 Sup8rlnlendent Reglslrar lo conduGI
marriage ceremonies under cerllflcale. Our Registered Number is 42430. One wedding
was conducled during the perlod under review.
Church Mlnistrles
Prayer Mlnlstry
Prayer underplns and susl8in8 gverythlng that lakes pla¢a wilhln and out from New Llfe
Church and new ministries are birthed in prayer. Regular limes of corpor&l6 prayer are held
al the c8nlre and in Life Groups throughout the week. Individual Ghurch m8mbers are
encouraged lo pray privately each day and spéclal prayer events are held from lime lo Ilme.
Durfng Ihe y8ar under review, w8 have oxperignGed amazing answers to prayer evidenced
by miiaculous healings, guidance for Individual Ilves and new opportunllles for Ihe church to
Serve the communily. Regular prayer clinics are held and the church elders are always
available lo pray for people's needs and sllualions.
Memb8rs of The Prayer Minlslry Team are ahNays available on Sunday mornings to pray Mrilh
people aller the service. The team has been expanded under the guidance of Merl& Williams
who provldas tralnlng for Ihose joining the team.

We provide roomlofflce faclllli8s on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Heallng Rooms ministry
whose headquarters are lo¢aled al New Life Church Cenlre.

The church Elders conllnue to have overall responslbillly for the preachlng and leachlng of
SOLJnd blbllcal Irulhs bdnglng guidance, dlreclion and vision lo the church.

Inspirallonal preaching is provided through church members 8nd from time to lime visillng
speakers.
The Eldèrs ar8 partlcvlarly gratèful to Paul Wllllams, Catherlne Krinks, Joanne Kllbry
and Shane Wrlght who continue to form the core of the preachlng mlnlslry team.

Chrislian Contemporary Music plays a key part In our Sunday worship services and the
church is blessed with a good numbor ol gifted Holy Spirit anolnt8d musiolans and slngers
from whom we currently have sevèral worship bands who allernale for various periods during
the y6ar.
The bands are supported by a dedicated team of audlo and visual lechnl¢ians.
Sanctuary Worshlp provides an extended tlma of prals8 and worship wilh an open lime lo
hear from Th8 Lord. Thlg usually lakes place monthly on the flrsl Tuesday evonlng.
Llfe Groups, Dlsclpleshlp and Pastoral Cara
The church is committed lo th8 discipleship and pastoral care OF church members and this Is
undertaken In a variety of ways, prlmarlly small groups. All new people joining th8 church
are &ncourau6d lo IDln a small group or b& linked to one.
Each first Sunday In each month one of our Life Groupslsludy Group8 leads the second part
of our Servi￿ whi¢h includes sharlng together ir) Holy Communion, Praying for our Prodigals
and bringing God's Word.
Equip Foundations, remaSns well established and is very well allended Includlng many
people who recently completed the Alpha Course.
'Llvlng God's Way, courses lor new disciple8 lake place, prlmarlly for those who have
recently completed an Alpha Course.
Evangellsm
The church Is commllled to evangelism within the local community. Church members carry
Ihls out mosl effectively through personal wilnesslng and dovelopment of friendshlps and
relallonships. Church wide Alpha Courses conllnue to be held every ye8T In the autumn
and spring terms. Alpha continues lo ba the main tool lo assist members in inlroduclng
frlends, n8lghbours and colleagues lo th& Christian faith. W8 have Seen encouraging growih
in attendance on Alpha Courses and these have b8en followed by foundallon courses.
Eleven new bellevers were baptised In Autumn 2025..
Speclal events, e.g. Thealra Productions and Conceris are also held occasionally and these
events pr()vide an ideal opportunlly lo Introduce people lo the Christian fallh.
Llfe Groups play an ossenlial part in Alpha by Inlrodu¢lng guests and providing the
exaellent weekly meals for th& evening courses.

movlng up lo High School and present each pupll with an 'lt's your move, booklet produced

Our Chlldren's minlslry16am also conduct assembll8s In most prlmary schools and a new
initiative called 'The Hope Joui'ney, lakes place, working wilh other local churches. This also
included Chrlstmas ill a Box.
High Schools, Mlnlstry
We have a longstanding strong r81alionshlp with our two High Schools particularly CU groups
and16ssons In Conglelon HSgh School, and our Drop In mlnlslry al E21on Bank Academy
has developed and Ilourlshed durlng the year.
Nursery Group
This conslsls of Pre-Schi)ol for 3 and 4 year olds and 2 year olds in The Rglnbow Room,
calering for children on a sessional basis, 'Fees are charged and pat1-lime staff are paid on
8 pro-rala basis per gesslon. Stall are pald above Ihe minimum wage and Childcare level
3 qualilicallons are recognised with an addlllonal houdy ral8 supplement, Hollday pay is the
required stalulory 5.6 weeks.

Indlvldual Pupll Funding IIPF) is secured lo cover one lo one support for speclal naeds

loadership of Maria Danlels and Jen)ma Irwln. Sarah Morris continues as Deputy Manager.
We believe In the inclusion of 811 children and we havè develop8d and been recognised as a
centr8 of excellence for children vAlh speci81 educallonal needs and disabilili8s.
Th8 Nursery Is Judged GOOD following the lalesl Ofsled Inspeollon In-July this year,

Again we have seen a modest gr0￿h In numbers of the chlldren allendlng, and especially
those with sp&clal educational needs {SENDI.
Zang Qui Xl, who is sponsored by our nursery families, is a 8peclal needs child in the
Lighlhouse orphanage in Chagsha Province in China whioh Is parl of the church's mlnlslry
and support for Int6rnalional China Concern.
New Llfe Nursery is a member of Ihe Early Years Alllance and Is registered wilh Children and
Famllies Cheshire East.
Special servic8s are held for nursery ¢hlldr8n and families at HaNesl, Chiislmas, Easter and
Summer Sports, all of wh5cFI are 6xlremely well allended by the Children and thelr famllies.
New Llf6 NuTsery Group maintalns a 81rong Chrlsllan ethos wilh daily prayers, Biblg stories
and songs.

and effectively communlcatlng through Soclal Medla. She is employ8d by the church one day

Chrlstlan Counselling and Listening SeNIcg
This is run by Louise Hadfleld, a fully qualifled covnsellor accrediled by BACP and ACC.
The service is open to P8opla both in and oulside the church and many peopl8 are referred
through local agencies.

This servlce now Includes Pregnancy Crlsls Support and Chlld Loss (formerly provided under
the Image banner}.
Storehouse Project
Thls proSecl conllnués lo experience very strong demand and the church is exlremely
grateful for oxlra grants and Ejn amazlng response from the looal community.
Joanna Crichton oversees the Storehouse and dLFring the year has bulll a great team of
reliable volunteers.
The Slor8house Prolecl, which was launched October 2010 has had an amazing imp8Ct
wilhln Iha community where more and more people and famllies have benefilled from crisis
food parc818.
Generous donailons of food from church members, local schools and other churchès In the
town have kept The Storehouse stocked wlth food and essential ilen7s, plus some very
gen8rous regular financial gifts from people oulslde the Ghurch enables us to boost slocks on
a rogular basis.
Collecllons al Tesco Conglelon have also boosted stocks and the church Is very grateful to
the generosity of the Conglelon public. We also recelve regular weekly dellveries from Fair
Sharo lo whom we are contraoled for 50 weeks per year. The ¢osl Is 42p per kllo whioh

Tha church for many years has SOEBrced good ¢ondS1ion second hand items, passing thom on
to those who are being re-housed, havlng previously been homeless.
The church works In conjuncllon wllh Ihe warehou8e and team based on Bromley Road and
Is very grateful to them lor Iheir support, wllhout which the s8Nioe oould not operate.
We have expeylencèd a massive Increase in demand due to 0081 of living Increase,
especially In white goods for slngle parent fami1185, often fleelng domestic abuse. Also we're
helplng an In¢r&asing number of Individuals with mental health Issues.

Forget-me-not Group
Under Ihe leadershlp of Clare Sheard and a leam of dedicated volunteers the church runs,
Iwiee monthly, a very Successful support group for those suffering from dementia and Ihelr
Garers.
The Jubilee Club
The Jubilee Club was lound8d In May 2012 In response lo the needs of many people being
hèlp&d through the Storehouse foodbank. People are raferred through varlous agencles.
The club meèts ev8ry Tuesday, s12rting with lea, coffee and 10881, followed by a brief 'llfe
message"
Members of the team then opt for varlous aclivllies.
Many ol those a118ndSng are struggling wllh serious Ilf8 Issues, a.g. recovering from drug and
alcohol addictions, mental health issues, broken dome811c r81allonships, abusive and violenl
relallonships.
The Club contlnues lo Ihrlve and grow with thanks to many Gommitled volunteers.
Beneflts Support Ministry
We have a skllled team of volunteers who use their e%p8rtls8 lo asslsl people from all
backgrounds lo complete complex application forms, 8.9. Personal Ind8P8ndenoe Payments
{PIP), Houslng Ben8fils etG. and lo provide advice. We re¢elve roferrals from various
statutory agencies, social subscrlbers {do¢lors' surgeries), CAB, DWP, elc.
Famlly Support Mlnistry
Thls expandlng minislry is led by Joanna Grlohlon and Maroarel Sanders and Is funded
through our Caring Mlnlstrles aocount for whlch grants are Sought. Both Joanna and
Marg8ret 8r6 qualified pre88nlers by Care for tho Family.
Much of tho work lak8s place with damag8d, broken and dysfunctional families and on
o¢casions involves supportlng clients in court appearan¢es and EHA, CIN and CP meelirlgs
where children are involved. Parenllng courses are proving very popular and helpful.
Clvic & Communlty Engagement
The church continues lo be aclively Involved in the local communlly Includlng Civic funolions
and charitable 6venls with the Rotary Club.
