b) To purchase, acquire and obtain interests in the copyright of or the right to perform or show any such dramatic operatic works
c) To purchase or otherwise acquire plant, machinery, furniture, fixtures, fittings, scenery and all other necessary effects
d) To raise funds and invite and receive contributions from any person or persons whatsoever by way of subscriptions, donation or otherwise; provided that the Society shall not undertake any permanent trading activities in raising funds such other things as shall further the objectives of the Society
Particularly speaking this means performing musicals annually or biennially in local theatres and presenting concerts to raise the funds to perform those musicals
Review of 2024/25 season
The Company continues to be in a strong financial position - with membership of over 50. We could do with having more younger male members, but this is true for most musical theatre groups.
We began the year with the sad news that our Musical Director, Rob Bowness, had decided to step down after 25 years. Many tributes were paid to Rob for his achievements. There is no doubt that he raised the reputation and musical standards of the company during his hugely successful time with WKMTC.
We are enormously grateful that Victoria Wells, our rehearsal pianist, agreed to pick up the role of rehearsal MD for our major show, Beauty & the Beast
