**Objects:** TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN ASHBY-DE-LA ZOUCH IN THE COUNTY OF LEICESTERSHIRE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA AND TO FOSTER AND ENCOURAGE THE CONSERVATION AND BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE MATERIAL HERITAGE OF MANKIND AND THE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY THE PROVISION OF A MUSEUM. **Activities:** Permanent and temporary exhibitions and displays on Ashby-de-la-Zouch and its neighbourhood. Regular guided walks. Evening classes, lectures, workshops. Publications of local history, including an annual magazine "Past and Present". Conservation and preservation of a local archive, including photographs, books, documents, newspapers, artefacts.
