|Summary of the purposes of<br>the charity as set out in its<br>governing document|Para 1.17|WHCRG represents all those with an interest in<br>the local community by working in partnership<br>with all relevant interest groups, voluntary<br>organizatons, local council, statutory<br>authorites and individuals. The Management<br>Commitee seeks to provide for improvement<br>in the local environs for an involved and valued<br>community.|
|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|West Hallam has a populaton of just under<br>6,000, 72% of which are under the age of 65.<br>We present and maintain the largest<br>community space and only indoor sports<br>facility in the Village. This facilitates increased<br>physical actvity, reduced isolaton, the building<br>of relatonships between people of all ages and<br>the provision of an afordable space. We<br>further support actvites for young people by<br>ofering discounted rates to groups working<br>with young people so that partcipaton is<br>accessible to all.<br>There is no other comparable building and<br>space within our community to accommodate<br>such a range of groups and actvites. It is a safe<br>space for people to meet and take part in<br>various actvites with likeminded people.<br>We have a number of regular users –<br>Community Pre-School, Rainbows, Guides,<br>Brownies, Youth Club (Minors), Slimming<br>World, Bounce to Beat, Flying Club, Badminton<br>and Taekwondo. In additon we have a large<br>number of casual users for partes, one-of<br>events and sportngactvites.|

|Contribution made by<br>volunteers|Para 1.38|We have an enthusiastc and hard working<br>commitee made up entrely of volunteers who<br>meet regularly and work together. Each<br>commitee member has a role to play and<br>knows what is expected of them. This makes a<br>huge diference to the Community Centre as<br>organisaton is key at such a busy recreatonal<br>and educatonal facility.|

Our regular<br>users have increased and we have contnued to<br>be a popular venue for partes and events. We<br>have a proactve Booking Secretary who has<br>made a big contributon to these<br>achievements. The building is now 40 years old<br>so there have been a number of challenges<br>with its on-going maintenance. The building<br>being in a good state of repair is essental to<br>retain our users. We received a legacy from<br>Helena Chapman who was a Parish Councillor<br>and supporter of the Centre. This enabled us to<br>pay for a building survey to be carried out and<br>put together a schedule of repairs and<br>maintenance. The main item is the<br>replacement of the roof which leaks and this<br>work will be carried out in 2024.<br>The Centre staying open and accessible helps<br>bring together people of all ages from the local<br>community,bringingmanybenefts.|
