The charity exists to support and assist the Chester Grosvenor Museum and promote its use and enjoyment by the public. In furtherance of this, to make loans or gifts of money to enable the Grosvenor Museum to acquire artefacts and also provide funds for their maintenance.

Objects: The Object Of The Society Is The Education Of The Public By (1) Supporting And Assisting And Improving The Grosvenor Museum (And The Branch Museums) And Promoting Its Use And Enjoyment By The Public. (2) Encouraging, In Close Association With The Grosvenor Museum, Cultural Pursuits Such As Local History, Archaeological Research And Excavations, Natural History, The Study Of The Fine And Applied Arts And Photography In The Chester Area And Generally Doing All Things Necessary Or Expedient For The Due Conduct Of The Society Not Herein Otherwise Provided For.
