The directors presènt thalr annual report and financial sta18m8nts lor th8 year ended 30 June 2024.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting pollcies sel out in note 1 trj the
financial statemenls and comply with Ihe charily's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charilies: Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance wilh the Financial Reporling Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)"
{effeclive 1 January 20191.
Objectlves and actlvities
To promote, mainlain, improve, and advance educallon by encouraglng and promoling the arts of drama, dance,
singing and music.
Public benefil
The directors have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what aclivities the
charty should undertake.
Activities
Two shows were held this year.

Maln show- The Hunchback of Notre Dame

The directors of the company were very happy to have had 2 very successfijl produ¢lions durlng 2024.
This year our pantomlme sponsors - Th8 Hudd8rsf181d Giants- decided at the last minute once again lo not perforni
with the company, It was therefore decided to go ahead wilh an additional adull performance Instead - which proved
to be very popular. raising more revenue than a sponsored performance.
The annual main show The Hunchback of Nolre Dam8 was a diffi'cult chall8nge 8rtislically, bul the directors were
extremely happy with the productlon, whlch although was not supported as expected. the company worked
extremely hard showing its artistic versatilily.
Thls year the company has invested in additional secondary double glazlng at its prémlses which in lime will save
on energy bills and ensuring a more comfortable envlronment for its actlvitles.
The company has onc8 again been successful in claiming Theatre Tax Relief for the past year.
Financial review
The charily had a net deficit for the year of £5.972 and al the yearend had an accurnulated fund of £84.212 together
with the foundation fund of £4.276.
In order to secure and oblain substantial di5wunts on the prc4Juctson costs It is necessary to make large deposits
and the charity's reserv8s are used for Ihis purpose.

The chariiy was formed as a company limiled by guarantee on 9 October 1981,

As the direGlors of the charity land also ils direclors for Ihe purposes of Gompany law), you are responsible for the
preparation of the finanGial slaternents in accordance with the requirernents of the Compani8s Act 2006.
Having satisfied myself that the financial slalemenls of the charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of
the Companies Act 2006 and are eligible for independent examinalion, I report in respect of my examination of thè
charity's financial statements carried oul under s8clion 145 of the Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examinallon
I have folk)wed the Directions given by Ihe Charily Commission under secllon 145(5){bl of the Charities Acl 2011.

1.1 Accountlng conventlon
The financial slatements have been prepared in arKordan¢e with the Charity's goveming document, ihe
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 "Th8 Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Irèland" and the Chaiiti8s SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Ststemenl ol Recommended
Practice applicable to charities preparing their acGounls in aGGordance with the Financial Reporiing Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)" The charity is a Public Benefit Enlity as defined by
FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in Ihe SORP for charities nol to prepare a statement of
cash flows.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, whSch Is the functional currency of the charlty. Monetary
amounts in these financial slatemenls are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepar8d under the historical cost convention. modified to include the
revaluation of freelmikl properties and to include investment properties and certaln finandal instruments at fair
value. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Golng concern
At the time of approving the financial 5latemenls. the directors have a reasonable expeclalion that the charily
has ad8qual8 resources to continue in operalional existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the directors
continue to adopl th8 going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unreslrlcted funds are available for use at the discretion of Ihe directors in furlheranr* of their charitable
ObJeC￿ves.
Restricted lunds are subject lo specific conditions by donors or granlors as to how Ihey may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes lo Ihe financial stalemenls.
Endowment funds arè subject to specific condilions by donors that the capital musl be maintained by the
¢harily.
1.4 Income
Income is recogni5ed when the charity Is legally entilled to it after any performance conditions have been met,
the arnounls can be measured reliably, and11 is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are fecognlsed once the charity has been notified
of Ihe donation, unless performance conditions requlre deferral of Ihe amount. Income lax recoverable in
rèlation to donallons rèceived under Gift Aid or deeds of covenanl is recognised al the lime of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or olheTwise if the charlty has been notified of an impendlng dlstribulion,
the amount Is known. and receipt is expect8d. If the amount is not known, Ihe legacy is treated as a
contlngent asset.
Tumover Is measured at the fair value of Ihe consideration received or receivable and represents amounts
ceivable for goods and services provlded in th8 normal course of business.

1.5 Expendlture
Expenditure is recognised on an aGcrual basis as liabilities are incurred. Expenditure includes VAT and is
reported as part of the expendilure lo which il relates.
Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charily in the delivery of its aclivilies. It includes
bolh cosls Ihal can b& allocated directly to such acttvilies and those costs of an indirect natur8 necessary lo
support them.
Govemance costs includ8 thosè costs associated with m8eling th8 constilulional and statU￿ry requlrements
of the charily and include the audlt fees and Costs linked to tha strategic management of the chartty.
1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tangiblè fixed assets are initially measured at Cost and subsequentty measured at cosl or valuation. nel ol
dep￿Ciall0n and any impairment losses,
Tangible fixed assets are slated at cost less dep￿Ciation. Depreciation is provided at rates ¢al¢ulated to write
off the Cost less estimaled residual value of each asset over ils expected useful life. as follows..

The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is delermined as Ihe difference betsyeen the sale proceeds
and the carrying value of the asset, and is recognised in the statement of financial activities.
1.7 Impairmenl of fixed assets
At each reporling end date, the charity reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible assets lo detem)ine
whether Ihere is any indication Ihat Ihose assets have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indiGation
exists, Ihe re¢overable amount ol Ihe osset is estimated in order to delermine the extent of the impairment
Ioss (if any).
1.8 Stocks
Stocks are slated at the IDW8r of cost and estifflated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cosl
comprisès direct materials and. where applicable. direcl labour costs and Ihose overheads that have bean
incurred in bringing the stocks to thelr presenl location and condition. Items held for distribution at no or
nominal consideration are measured at the lower of replacemenl cost and cost.
Net reallsable value is Ihe estimaled selling prlce less all eslimaled costs of complellon and costs to be
incurred in markeling, selllng and dSslribution.
1.9 Cash and cash equlvalonts
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid
inveslments with original maturities of three monlhs or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are Shown
within borrowings in current liabilities.

1.10 Flnanclal Instrumenls
The charity has elected lo apply the provisions of Section 11 '8asic Financial Instruments, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of its financial Inslrumenls.
Financial instrum8nls are recognised in the charity's balance sheet when Ihe charity becomes party lo Ihe
¢ontraclual provisions of Ihe inslrument.
Financial assets and liabililies are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial statemenls, when
there is a legally enforceable right to S8t off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to sellle on a nel
basis or to realis8 the ass8t and settl? the liability simullaneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, ar8 initially measured at
transaction price including Iransaclion costs and are subsequently carried al amortiS8d cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a linan¢ing transaclion, where Ihe Iransaclion is
measured at the present value of the future receipts discounled at a rna￿et rate of interesl. Financial assets
¢lassified as receivab18 within on8 year ar8 not amortised.
Baslc Ilnanclal liabilities
Basic financial liabilities. including cr8ditors and bank loans are initially recognised at Iransaction price unless
the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where Ihe debt instrum8nl is me8sur@d al the present
value of the fulure payments discounted al a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
within one year are not amortised.
Debl instrumenls are subsequently carried al am¢Ytised cost. using th8 8ff8ctiv8 int8r8st rate method.
Trade creditors are obli9ations to pay for goods or services Ihat have been acquired in the ordinary course of
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities rf payment is due within one
year or less. If not, they are presented as non<urrént liabS1iti&s. Trad8 creditors ar& recognised initially al
transaction prio and subsequently measured at amorlised cost using the effective interest method.
Derecognltlon of flnanclal Ilabllltles
Financial liablllties are derecognlsed when the charity's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or

1.11 Employee beneflls
The cosl of any unused holiday entitlement is rewgnised In the period in which the employee's ServI￿S are
received.
Temiination b8nefits are reco9nised immediately as an expense when Ihe charity is demonstrabty committed
