THE MILL HOUSE ANIMAL SANCTUARY TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30th JUNE 2025

Achievements and Performance

During the year ending 30 June 2025, the charity demonstrated a marked improvement in financial performance, achieving a surplus of £19,615 compared to a deficit of £76,482 in the previous year. This reflects stronger overall financial management and a recovery in income levels.

Financial Review

The charity reported a strong financial recovery in the year ended 30 June 2025, moving from a deficit of £76,482 in the prior year to a surplus of £19,615. Total incoming resources increased significantly to £109,697 (2024: £57,592), largely driven by a substantial rise in legacy income (£78,741). Donation income declined to £27,321, indicating some variability in voluntary income streams.

Total expenditure dropped markedly to £90,082 (2024: £134,074), reflecting tighter cost control. Charitable activity costs fell to £46,281, while management and administration expenses decreased significantly to £43,800, contributing to the overall surplus.

On the balance sheet, total funds increased to £72,988 (2024: £53,373), all of which are unrestricted. Cash balances improved significantly to £54,474, strengthening short-term liquidity

Overall, while the charity’s financial position has strengthened due to increased income and reduced expenditure, reliance on legacy income and the presence of net current liabilities highlight ongoing financial risks that require careful management.

Investment Policy

The investment powers are vested with the Executive Committee. The constitution does not contain any restrictions on investments.

Approval

Signed on behalf of the trustees
