All regular lettings are invoiced monthly and payment is made promptly. The income from Casual lettings is higher than last year. The monies from regular, casual lets, and fundraising provide the monies to allow the Group to continue to invest in Scouting and our facilities. Within the accounts there is a surplus in section contributions of £1098.00 which has been carried over from last year’s accounts due to some late payments for the financial year ending March 2019. The remainder of the contributions, £240.00 is for monies received from the Explorers for the use of the building & equipment. All section contributions have been received for this financial year. All section accounts have been received for the year and have been added into the Group Accounts. Contributions from Eccles Pike Explorers for the terms September – December 2019 and January – March 2020 are still outstanding to date for the use of the hall and equipment. 6 ## **TREASURER’S REPORT** We have received a payment of £935.49 from HMRC for our gift aid claim for the period 01 April 2016 – 31st March 2017. Many thanks to Ian for putting the claim together and submitting. We still need to claim gift aid on subscriptions paid for the periods 01 April 2017 – 31 March 2018, 01 April 2018 – 31 March 2019 and for the current financial year. Our main items of expenditure for the year other than the usual running costs were £620.00 for hedge cutting and general clearing of the car park, £404.91 for the purchase of tents for Beaver sleepovers and £202.50 for a new projector for Ron’s Room. As the closing balances show, we are in a good financial position and we have sufficient funds for a rainy day plus additional cash in the bank. Our aim for the coming year is to build on these reserves by tasking the fundraising committee to find new and innovative methods of extracting money from the community to support local scouting. As always, we have been very busy over the last sixteen months. Unfortunately we do not have enough time to tell you about everything, so we have selected a few of the best bits! 8 7 13/10/2020 At the start of the Autumn ‘19 term we welcomed back Gareth Woodward as a Leader and Jamie Bell also joined the team **----- Start of picture text -----**
Our first activity was a wide
game in the Goyt Valley
Followed by a music night.
We were visited by a local
drummer and the Beavers got
to make a trumpet, this was a
very noisy night!
The highlight of this term was
our sleepover at Gullivers
Kingdom. 24 Beavers came
along and enjoyed activities in
the evening followed by a day
in the theme park!

9 10 ## January 2020 started with 27 Beavers. We had the annual visit from our friends Juggalubs where we got to try out circus activities. The Police visited and discussed “Stranger Awareness”. Then we went to Pets at Home in Macclesfield followed by a visit from a local Martial Arts group. **----- Start of picture text -----**
Treak Cliffe Cavern was an exciting outing before
our final sleepover two weeks before lockdown.
There were 23 Beavers who attended the sleepover. We
toasted marshmallows, sang campfire songs, decorated
biscuits and had a scooter challenge.

Lockdown
During lockdown we met every other week on Zoom. We had a good number
attend each session and we covered several topics, including:
Air Activities
Animal Care
Local Landmarks and History
Scavenger Hunts
Camp at Home
Our greatest achievement over lockdown was that 23 Beavers were awarded
their Bronze Scout Award. We worked with each Beaver and set challenges
and worksheets so they could complete all the tasks at home. All Beavers were
presented with the Bronze Award badge and certificate.

14 16 15 13/10/2020 Autumn 2020. We were so happy to be able to get back Scouting and welcome Claire Burrows as a new Leader. We decided to hold off with the new Beavers starting and continued with 22. We split the Beavers into two groups of eleven with three leaders each. We started off with sculpture building in the river Then we invited the old Beavers back for an “end of term” party at the High School. Followed by wide games, a hike over Combs Moss then first aid. We have now invited six new Beavers to join the colony giving us 28 in total. We will continue to operate as two separate groups but running the same programme with each. Activities this year will include Rope Race in Marple, Science Experiments, Remembrance Sunday Awareness and several exciting Christmas activities, and maybe even a visit from a Special Person Chapel Beavers continues to thrive, we have 14 children on the waiting list. This is all due to the hard work and commitment of the leaders, Lisa, Sam, Luke, Jamie, Gareth and Claire. We must also thank regular parent helper Vicki and young helper Harry. ## 17 ## **CUBS – KINDER PACK REPORT** The year 1[st] April 2019 to 31[st] March 2020 was an active year for Kinder Cubs which saw the Cubs take part in many interesting activities, learn new skills and have fun. The end of April and the start of May was dominated with the Wallaboree (covered in last year’s AGM report). Later in May the Cubs enjoyed a Science night that was organised by Martin Gunter which saw the Cubs having a go at a range of exciting experiments to gain their scientist activity badges. In June the Cubs enjoyed a local knowledge walk around Chapel where they learned interesting facts and local history, they were then tested on this the following week. June also saw a visit by Alan Robinson who had the Cubs learning about first aid, CPR and what to do in an emergency. July saw the Cubs out and about and included a night of Kayaking lead by Ian Burley at the Hollowford Centre. Kinder Cubs also helped create the Scout Well dressing which was on the theme of ‘No Planet B’ and featured an orangutan. The final meeting before the summer holidays was planned as a family night and was organised by the Cubs themselves. The evening included archery, Mecchano and a barbeque. ## 18 ## **CUBS – KINDER PACK REPORT** The Cubs returned from their summer holidays in to a busy programme which included making and flying kites (the evening was described by one Cub as ‘The Best Cubs Ever!’), team building games and challenges. In October, the Cubs went on a nature walk to the park where they split into groups and tried to collect as many different leaves and seeds as they could, these were then taken back to the HQ and identified. Later in the month, the Cubs had a go at a range of carefully designed activities to simulate different types of sight loss as well as building a pioneering bridge in the HQ. October also saw the District sixers and seconders camp at Gradbach. Paul, Martin and 6 Cubs from Kinder attended this event which saw the Cubs climbing at Gradbach Hill, learning bushcraft skills and completing a range of Crystal Maze type teamwork challenges with Cubs from around the district. November saw the Cubs climbing during our annual visit to the Rope Race in Marple as well as a fantastic turn out for Remembrance Sunday. 20 19 13/10/2020 21 ## **CUBS – KINDER PACK REPORT** In December the Cubs had their annual sleepover at the HQ where they visited Peak Cavern before making ‘dens’ out of pioneering poles, tables and fabric. December also saw the Cubs making Christmas crafts and baking gingerbread shapes. The last night of term saw the Cubs celebrating Christmas with a party and presents. The new year saw the Cubs learning about faith and health and wellbeing, In January the Cubs paid a visit to the Samudra Buddhist Centre in Buxton where they learned about Buddhism and also meditation. In January the Cubs also learned about healthy eating and exercise. The Cubs also enjoyed a visit from Jugalubs and an evening of circus skills. In February the Cubs started preparing and practicing for the District Cubs cooking competition, this included a number of practice nights where the Cubs cooked meals on the theme of ‘At the Movies’. Eventually, after a close competition, 2 meals were chosen and entered into the District Competition. A big thank you must go out to all parents and family members who helped during these weeks. The 7[th] March saw the District Cubs cooking competition which, as usual was very competitive and to a very high standard. The competition saw the district trophy swap ends of the HQ from Kinder Pack (2019 winners) to Bowden Pack. Tuesday 9[th] March was a fairly ordinary night where the Cubs were starting to learn about map work and navigation, little did we know then that it would be the last face to face Pack meeting until September. ## **CUBS – BOWDEN PACK REPORT** The beginning of the year, April 2019, saw Bowden Pack with 11 Cubs and a good mix of boys and girls. The pack attended Wallaboree in May 2019. In June we entered 2 teams in the Bowden Buffalo competition but unfortunately the contest was cancelled so with parental help we hastily organized a Baby Bowden contest instead. July saw the Cubs visit Rope Race in Marple and eventually every Cub who attended reached the top! 22 ## **CUBS – KINDER PACK REPORT** Following government guidelines, Scouting suspended all Face to Face Scouting on Monday 15[th] March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In general terms Cub numbers stayed roughly steady with some fluctuations throughout the year. In terms of leaders/helpers, the pack continues with Phil as leader assisted by Paul, Jamie and George and Sam as YL’s. In January regular helper Martin Gunter and his wife Sulenta moved on with their son from Kinder Cubs up to the Scout Section. Both Martin and Sulenta have been great assets to the Pack over the last few years and their input will definitely be missed. The Pack are always looking out for people to join our team of leaders and supporters and would love to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping out. In particular, we would love to hear from anyone who could help with the general admin and record keeping. Although the start of our 2020-2021 year has been highly unusual, the Pack has continued with a mixture of Zoom meetings, online programme and outdoor Scouting. We home that things will return to normal in the not too distant future, but, in the meantime we will continue to do our best to meet the challenges head on. Finally, Phil, Jamie and myself would like to thank everyone who has helped the Pack over the last year and in particular Jane Green who continues to keep our finances in order as well as helping out as/when she can. ## **CUBS – BOWDEN PACK REPORT** In September we had a camp with the theme “Lets Get Physical” at Boarfold Scout Camp in Chisworth, the highlight being a visit to Adrenaline in Mottram where the Cubs experienced trampolines and a huge play jungle. In October the Cubs participated in a litter pick around Chapel and we were amazed at the amount of litter they managed to collect. 23 24 13/10/2020 25 ## **CUBS – BOWDEN PACK REPORT** We also visited the Buddhist Centre in Buxton and learned to meditate. November saw a good turn out for the Remembrance Parade and the end of the month we had our annual Make and Take where the main construction this year was old boot nesting boxes. January we attended the Chapel Players panto Puss in Boots and a good evening it was too. ## **CUBS – BOWDEN PACK REPORT** During the year Bowden Cubs awarded 120 badges in total including 6 Chief Scout Silver awards. We finished the year in March 2020 with 14 Cubs. As we resume face to face Scouting Bowden Cubs currently have 15 Cubs on the books. ## **CUBS – BOWDEN PACK REPORT** In February we entered 2 teams into the District ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ contest. In March we had a first aid night and also a visit from the Air Ambulance and from this the Cubs wanted to do a talent show to raise money for them which we were working towards until Covid struck.
