**Objects:** TO ENCOURAGE THE USE AND ENJOYMENT OF PUBLIC FOOT-PATHS. TO DEFEND THE RIGHTS OF THE PUBLIC TO THEIR RIGHTS OF WAY. TO SECURE NEW FOOTPATH RIGHTS OF WAY WHERE PRACTICABLE, IE TO RECOVER OLD FOOTPATHS FOR PUBLIC USE, AND EXTEND THE FOOT-PATH NETWORK. TO PREVENT THE ABUSE OF SUCH RIGHTS, ESPECIALLY DAMAGE TO CROPS, PROPERTY, TREES, ETC AND THE DEPOSITING OF LITTER. TO PROMOTE THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT, OFFER HELP TO FARMERS AND LANDOWNERS IN DEFINING FOOTPATHS. TO ENDEAVOUR TO AID TIN THE ERECTION OF SIGNPOSTS AND REPAIR OF FOOTBRIDGES WITH LABOUR, WHERE THE LANDOWNER OF AUTHORITY REQUEST SUCH ASSISTANCE.

**Activities:** 1. The objectives of the group are to encourage the use of public footpaths and to assist in the preservation, maintenance and defence of the rights of the public to use and enjoy on foot the public highways, (e.g. footpaths, bridle paths, by-ways and other ways, wastelands and roadside strips). 2.
