March **2012** **TAR** 2 **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** Over the past period, we have successfully undertaken the following initiatives at Llaingoch Community Hall: ## 1. **Community Gatherings and Support Groups:** - We hosted afternoon tea for the Mother’s Union, fostering social connections and support. - The Cancer Support Group visits once a month, providing essential encouragement and companionship for those affected by cancer. ## 2. **Singing Group and Fundraising Concerts:** - The Singing Group evolved from the Warm Spaces initiative and has become an integral part of our community activities. - We organized a concert to support Church House—Boston Centre Stage in their fundraising efforts for a new floor. - As a result of this success, we have been invited to perform at a SSAFA fundraiser at the Ucheldre Centre. - Additionally, we have a fundraiser planned for September to support the Holyhead Hotspur new girls’ youth team and Llaingoch Hall. ## 3. **Seasonal Events for Children:** - We held Coronation, Halloween, and Easter parties for the children, bringing joy and community spirit to families. ## 4. **Community Sales and Activities:** - We successfully organized two tabletop sales, providing an opportunity for local residents to buy and sell goods while fostering community engagement. - We launched a bingo event in October 2023, which has been well received and continues to attract strong community support. ## 5. **Local Partnerships and New Initiatives:** - The Cylch Meithrin Cybi held their Christmas Fair at the hall, bringing the community together for a festive celebration. - The Llaingoch Horticultural Committee unfortunately folded, but they left a lasting legacy by putting up a plaque and donating to the hall. - A new Community Garden Group will be starting at the hall, aiming to pass on knowledge from former members and encourage local gardening efforts. It has come to our attention that some individuals may have possibly used the hall for their own personal benefit, leading to significant irregularities in our accounts, particularly concerning cash transactions. As a responsible organisation, we take these matters very seriously. After identifying these issues, we promptly reported them to the relevant authorities, including the police and the Charity Commission. Investigations are now underway to ensure accountability and to prevent any such occurrences in the future. The trustees that may have been involved in these matters have since resigned as of August 2024. As the current trustees, we are committed to transparency and are in the process of submitting the necessary financial returns to rectify past discrepancies and restore confidence in our operations. Our priority remains the integrity and proper governance of the hall.
