**Objects:** TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AND STUDY OF HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY, PARTICULARLY THAT OF PRESTON AND DISTRICT.

**Activities:** We provide a series of lectures given by speakers from October to May each season, open to both members and the public at large, together with displays at local venues throughout the year. Several members carry out their own research into local history and family history, give lectures on their findings, and publish their research.
