|Summary
ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year|||||Covid 19has had a significant
impact on the Temple and its objectives
during the latter part ofthe year. This includes:
~
The curtailing
ofactivities, festivals.
~
Impact on learning.||
||||||~
Availability
ofthe temple for the congregation
during the year for||
||||||worship
and for schools and public organisations
to leam about||
||||||Hinduism.||
||||||In the initial response to the covid crisis, the temple offered its facilities|if|
||||||required
for public service use. The kitchen was used by another
charity||
||||||'Food for Life' preparing
and distributing
meals for those with specific||
||||||needs and shielding
throughout
the city and wider region. Young||
||||||volunteers
also collected medicines
for those shielding
and offered||
||||||services and contact numbers
to those who may require
help in the local||
||||||area.||
||||||The contribution
ofthe young members
ofthe congregation
makes
it||
||||||easy to maintain
the temple
building
and keep it clean and tidy. The need||
||||||for a number ofessential
building
improvements
arose during the year,||
||||||which
will require
investment
and are currently
in progress.
Investment||
||||||was also made
in live streaming
equipment
and maintaining
a secure||
||||||environment.||
||||||The Youth Committee
and Management
Committee
continue to organise||
||||||events,
religious and morals classes for the young children
and||
||||||congregation
to take part in on Fridays and Saturdays these classes||
||||||continue to see further increases
in numbers
and improvements
in||
||||||structure. The teachers and presenters
who organise and take part in||
||||||these activities are dedicated
volunteers
who also ensure that the||
||||||children
and adults enjoy coming to and being part oftheir classes. Such||
||||||classes moved on line as a result ofthe pandemic.||
||||||The members
ofthe congregation
who attend the temple are the main||
||||||contributors
offinancial donations
by which the temple is managed
and||
||||||maintained.
We would
like to thank them but also to the members
ofthe||
||||||congregation
and management
committee
who continue to provide their||
||||||attendance
service and dedication
in all our activities,
without
an
cost.||
||||||The operating costs ofthe temple continue to increase
in terms of utilities||
|Briefstatement||||ofthe|and insurance
in particular.
A number ofessential
upgrades
are required||
|charity's||policy||on reserves|in the medium
term to ensure that the building
remains
suitable to||
||||||support the objects ofthe trust. This includes
lifecycle costs as||
||||||components
come to the end oftheir useful
life, as well as enhancements||
